Default Today's phony "outrage" and "apology"

Is this lunacy really making things better? I don't think so. I think it's making things much, much worse.

And this was the phony "outrage" from yesterday. Sanders has been responding to the State of the Union for years. It didn't become an "outrage" until he gave it following a black woman giving her response. So far Sanders hasn't issued a groveling "apology," but don't bet that he won't.

Look for Padma Lakshmi to issue a groveling apology very soon. And notice that this "story" is filled with tweets copied and pasted from unknown tweeters, as if that's meaningful. This "writer" Suzy Byrne is a real piece of work. A high percentage of her "stories" are similar "outraged" demands for apologies.

Seriously? Someone is "outraged" about this? I don't think so.

That was my thought as well (though in less colorful language).

Who gives a shit what people tweet?

Mark my words. If this lunacy continues for the next two years, and Trump hasn't been charged with a crime, he'll be re-elected easily. And maybe even if he has been charged.

The funny part is that there are apparently a number of people who expect (only) hard-hitting, culturally relevant articles from Esquire magazine.

Still, it was a little dumb of editorial to allow an article centered on white privilege on Black History Month.

True, they could have picked any other month to start this article series on. Or done the first article on a black youth, which is what I would have gone with as editor. But the comments below are so obnoxiously idiotic and racist that it's actually worth offending these cretins.

Too many people on the left don't say, "That's wrong." Instead they say, "You can't say that."

As someone who is on the left on most issues, that annoys the hell out of me. And I recognize the anger that's building up over it. What happened in 2016 was just a warning. When they geyser blows, it won't be pretty.

Another example. "Jennifer Lopez needs to shut up. She shouldn't be allowed to sing those songs."

Smokey Robinson is right. This is setting black people back a hundred years.
