I didn't see a specific thread for this, but I wanted to point out that this 9-issue event was co-written by Ron Marz and John Stewart features prominently. I'd encourage GL fans to pick up Justice League #58 since there are some sequences that illustrate John's personality and motivation as a hero perfectly.

^Yeah, they seem to be building on the social activist mother angle; in a global event, John would cover the underprivileged.
