Heard on the radio recently that this guy had gotten a new tattoo, wanted to join the airport police where he lived, and was told he could not have any visible tattoos for the job.

He goes home and tries to use a pumice stone to rub off the tattoo, but when that doesn't work, he switches to a cheese grater.

After he's done, he decides he doesn't want to apply for the job after all.

I'd like to give a special shout-out to the genius who dropped a plastic utensil into the deep fryer on the weekend. We had burgers and fries for lunch at work yesterday, but the cook told me to immediately change the oil because he found this melted black lump floating in there, which meant we couldn't risk contamination affecting anyone.

Oil was not cold when I had to change it, so the chief executive chef told me he'd take it to the dumpster because if they lost me to an oil-burn accident, we'd be screwed (it was cool enough that I dumped it later before he had to).

So maybe this is nitpicking, but I had to actually process this real-life scenario over the past few days:

I go on break Wednesday, and while I'm enjoying lunch the state inspector shows up. Senior chef and dining director aren't there right away so another admin and one of the cooks is showing her about, but apparently she checked into my dishroom while I was eating and asked a couple very fascinating questions.

"Why are there dirty dishes in here?" and "Why is the slicer dirty?"

The cook had to explain to her that I was on break for the next 30 minutes, hence the dishes, and that they had recently used the slicer, hence the bits of meat. It was as if she was wholly oblivious to the purpose of a kitchen to begin with.
