I saw that yesterday. I'm past being mad about these hack job remakes anymore. I just shake my head and move on. I own the original on bluray and they cant edit it or take it away from me. I have zero interest in seeing much less giving over my money for any reboot or remake of The Lost Boys. They got it right back in the day the first time.

What they should do is cross over lost boys with the howling wich i still have to watch and still never saw and can be interesting. Plus how would a remake be if set in present time?

IIRC in Lost Boys the Frog Brothers say they suspect the town council is ruled by werewolves. As an audience you're supposed to be laughing on their conspiracy theories, but since they were right about the vampires, maybe werewolves could be part of the Lost Boys "universe."

Anyway, I've seen both of the sequels, but they're forgettable. If there was a remake, I'd probably feel compelled to see it eventually for completion's sake, but I'd just rent it from Netflix.

That said, I love the original Fright Night and Evil Dead and was highly skeptical about either getting a remake, but I ended up really liking both as well. So, who knows?

I'd have to watch it again to spot it. It's definitely a throw-away line, but I think it's the first time Haim is in the comic store and they're telling him the vampire comic will save his life.

Whether or not it's technically great, Dracula (1931) will always be the seminal vampire flick. Even people who would never watch a horror flick think vampires talk like Bela Lugosi. That's the cultural peak.

Found it. It's the third time they meet. They speak about ghouls and werewolves in high positions in town hall starting about 10 seconds in:
