Episode #282: A Very Marvelous Episode

It’s another wonderful installment of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast – and the boss is back! The Marvelous Iggy’s triumphant return is nigh, praise be! He leads us pitiful worms, newsie Bry-Bry and ol’ curmudgeon Tazer, into the promised land of the news! The Marvelous One is the wind beneath our wings as we take flight with news – the Entertaining Weekly feature on Captain Marvel – still without a trailer, but photos galore! We continue to monitor the #RehireJamesGunn situation, including Dave Bautista possibly departing the film franchise over the issue and the piece alleging that James Gunn may not have even wanted to direct a third installment of the franchise. We also pay tribute to both Gary Friedrich and Marie Severin, discuss the launch of a new SUPERIOR Spider-Man series, and also speculate as to Jeremy Renner’s upcoming role in Avengers 4. Meanwhile, in reviews, The Marvelous One gets down and dirty with those filthy mutants in X-Termination #2, and then it’s back-to-back cosmic capers as Tazer shouts-out his love for Death of the Inhumans #3, and Bry-Bry laments his own regional culture and Carol Danvers the Masshole in his review of Life of Captain Marvel #1 and #2. That’s our show for this week, folks, but be sure to follow us on Facebook at The Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast, follow us on Twitter @Warriorz3Pcast, subscribe to us on iTunes, and rate us favorably and leave us a kind word in review. Join us next time as we continue to search for a replacement of Jon-Jon – R.I.P. Ol’ Man Whirlyburger!

      Episode #283: SHAZAM!

…Where’s the ka-boom? There was supposed to be a lightning-fueled, earth-shattering ka-boom! Hang on, let me look at my papers here… Oh, wrong Captain Marvel – anyway, this is the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast, and our leader- who CAN keep his notes straight- is present only in spirit, with Bry-Bry taking over hosting duties. He’s flanked by Tazer and Ol’ Man Whirlyburger Jon as they delve into the deep, dark unknown of space – literally unknown to Tazer, because he refuses to view the trailer for Captain Marvel. The Newsie and Jon-Jon talk about it, though, as well as the prospect of Disney’s forthcoming streaming app yielding limited series’ about some of the MCU’s less-prominent characters like Loki and the Scarlet Witch, and Bry-Bry also offers a review of the PS4-exclusive video game Spider-Man, since he’s the only member of the crew with a PS4. In reviews, Bry-Bry leads his crew from the darkness into the light with an impromptu Book of the Week review of Fantastic Four #2, with the bombastic return of the titular team! In individual reviews, Jon-Jon reviews Return of Wolverine #1, and Tazer tag-teams with Journey Into Mystery: Birth of Krakoa #1 – somewhere, Ben is silently screaming into the night. Also, Bry-Bry reviews the Looney Tunes-esque Cosmic Ghost Rider #2, featuring Cosmic Punisher, Thanos! We’ll leave you on that cliffhanger, because that’s our show for this week, folks, but be sure to follow us on Facebook at The Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast, follow us on Twitter @Warriorz3Pcast, subscribe to us on iTunes, and rate us favorably and leave us a kind word in review. Next time, Venom will have come out by the time we record – will we review it? Does anybody really care…?

Episode #284: Bry-Bry and Tazer do the Heroes for Hire!

…Wait, that didn’t – it didn’t come out right. Anyway, moving on, you’re listening to another black-and-white edition of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast! Our inglorious leader, Ben, a.k.a. The Marvelous Iggy, and Ol’ Man Whirlyburger Jon are otherwise occupied this week with something involving masks, baby oil, and a good amount of grappling, and so Newsboy Bry-Bry and Tazer double-team it this week on the show! …Wait, hang on – Y’know what, forget it. Never mind. We begin our episode by marveling at Chris Evan, saluting the man for having made the role of Steve Rogers his own as he says his goodbye to the role he helped make famous. Then, the dynamically diverse duo discuss the official trailer for Dark Phoenix before segueing into a round-up of all the headlines out of New York Comic-Con 2018, the more marquee topics of which include the announcement of Jason Aaron’s forthcoming Thor event- the War of the Realms- the rebranding of the Champions comics book as a Marvel equivalent of DC’s Legion of the Super-Heroes, and the development of a Dark Avengers script as part of the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As we transition into reviews, Bry-Bry and Tazer throw their comic books IN THE TRAAAAASH! We pick-up the slack around these here parts and give our takes on the latest seasons of both Luke Cage and Iron Fist – the Heroes for Hire! What did we like about each season? Did Iron Fist season two improve upon the first? Where the hell did Luke Cage dig up Rakim for a cameo? All this and more is answered in this week’s review segment! While we may be small in number, we are plentiful in content! That’s our show for this week, folks, but be sure to follow us on Facebook at The Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast, follow us on Twitter @Warriorz3Pcast, subscribe to us on iTunes, and rate us favorably and leave us a kind word in review – and for those of you waiting for a Venom dedicated review… I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Episode #285: Requiem for An Industry

…Alright, people, look – I’m not gonna lie to you, this is a bit of a dark episode. But, nevertheless the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast are here to guide you through it. In the news this week, after taking a brief aside to discuss the recent hiring of James Gunn by DC and Warner Bros., interim general manager Bry-Bry, Tazer, and Ol’ Man Whirlyburger Jon discuss the recent cancellations of both Iron Fist and Luke Cage on Netflix and the future of these franchises, and others, as Disney debuts their own streaming app later next year. We also discuss the recently-announced line-up for Marvel Comics upcoming relaunch of Guardians of the Galaxy next year, and the Chuck Wendig firing fiasco. Meanwhile, in reviews, Jon keeps it underground with The Punisher #2, Bry-Bry laments the end of Old Man Frank Castle in Old Man Logan Annual #1, and Tazer falls on the sword of having seen Venom in theaters and offers up his take on the movie outside of a dedicated review – is it as bad as we all thought it to be? Stick around to find out, and before you go remember to follow us on Facebook at The Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast, subscribe to us on iTunes, perhaps leave a kind word in review and rate us favorably, and join us again next time for a hopefully more sunshine-y installment wherein we review…Daredevil season 3. …Okay, so we’re staying in the dark for a little while longer – sue us.

          • The Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast Special Review-

            Netflix's Daredevil: Season 3

From out of the shadows, suddenly – A PODCAST! Yes, it is time once more for the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast to set aside all other interests and discuss the latest offering from within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, we walk into the darkness to shine a light on season 3 of Daredevil from Marvel & Netflix. But we do not walk alone, dear listener; joining your write-in candidate for podcast host-for-life Bry-Bry and hard-edged investigator Tazer is none other than founding member of the podcast JohnnyV, back from the dead! They three sit down to dissect the good, the bad, and the ugly from the latest season of the show centering on the man without fear and the kingpin of crime – did this season hit the bullseye in terms of quality? What left us questioning the faith we place in the writers room? Will Daredevil go the way of both Iron Fist and Luke Cage now that season 3 has wrapped? Only time will tell – time enough for you to delve into our latest episode, but before you do, be sure to follow us on Facebook at The Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast, follow us on Twitter at @Warriorz3Pcast, subscribe to us on iTunes, and perhaps rate us favorably and leave a kind word in review! Next time, it’s back to basics, but stray not from the path, dear listener, lest you be lost to the darkness…

              Episode #286: Excelsior Forevermore

Face front, True Believers – today, we gather together to mourn the passing of an icon, and the godfather of Marvel Comics: Stanley Martin Lieber, a.k.a. Stan Lee. Our glorious leader, the Marvelous Iggy a.k.a. Ben, rejoins Bry-Bry, Tazer, and (temporarily) Ol’ Man Whirlyburger himself, Jon-Jon, to pay tribute to The Man himself. We get together, ramble off some of his career highlights (which is just about the entirety of Stan Lee’s career), and reminisce – specifically, we all share our favorite Stan Lee character, our favorite Stan Lee story, and our favorite Stan Lee cameo in a Marvel movie. Meanwhile, keeping in the spirit of Stan’s legacy, we dig in and review some comic books! Together, we review Avengers #700, our Book of the Week and a fitting legacy milestone issue! Then, individual reviews, Ben reviews Uncanny X-Men #1, Tazer reviews Death of the Inhumans #5, the final issue in the event, and Bry-Bry reviews X-Men Black: Emma Frost, the last of the 5-issue limited run. That’s our show for this week. Episode #287: Sympathy for a Devil

We gather together today to mourn the passing of another icon: Netflix’s Daredevil. The Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast welcomes you to Hell’s Kitchen, dear listeners, and if you can’t stand the heat… Anyhow, this week it’s only Bry-Bry and Tazer to fight off the darkness, which is proven more difficult as we discuss the unexpected cancellation of Daredevil after a critically renowned season 3. We further address the state of Marvel & Netflix with updates on both The Punisher and Jessica Jones, then dig deep for hope in discuss something new coming into the world: Shang-Chi being developed into a Marvel Studios feature film! We also talk about Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse already being greenlit for both a sequel and an all-female spin-off, and Venom breaking box office records and what that means for Sony’s “Spider-Verse” of films moving forward. In reviews, Tazer tackles something different: an animated film, Hulk: Where Monsters Dwell – and, shock of all shocks, he kinda likes it! Then Bry-Bry caps-off Cosmic Ghost Rider with his review of issue #5! Finally, through the magic of live recording, Bry-Bry snap-reviews the debuting-as-we-record new Captain Marvel trailer!
