Default Collecting Blackest Night

Anyone who pays attention to the Green Lantern Spotlight Twitter page will already know that the main series of BLACKEST NIGHT will be collected in hardcover(not Deluxe) format on July 6th 2010(retail at $30.00).

But now comes news of how other titles will(might be) collected:

Blackest Night: Rise of the Black Lanterns

-Solicited as written by Geoff Johns only, so consider that a placeholder. Collected in Hardcover format of 208 pages and set to be released July 13th 2010.

Blackest Night: Black Lantern Corps Vol.1

-Solicited as written by James Robinson who is only writing Blackest Night: Superman and JSA miniseries. Chances are that this hardcover volume collects Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Titans and JSA. Page count solicited as 240 but could vary.

Blackest Night: Black Lantern Corps Vol. 2

-Solicited as the same above.

Blackest Night: Tales of the Corps Vol. 1

-Solicited as being written by Geoff Johns, with a retail sale of $24.99 for hardcover. Page count listed at 176, and to be released June 8th 2010. The "Tales of the Corps" 3 issue series is most likely not to be collected here, as it would not warrant hardcover edition or a second volume. Likely collection for the 8 canceled one shot series.

See, I would assume that Tales of the Corps WOULD collect the three part series of the same name...along with other things. It would seem non-sensical to me for it NOT to include the issues that actually had that title, but it obviously isn't ONLY that.

July 6th 2010??

Once again, DC proves how inept they are at getting out collected editions.

Marvel would have this out the month after the event. Like they did with Secret Invasion.

My post had nothing to do with price. And I can't figure out what in that post would make you think I was talking about price.

It was about DC's inability to get them out until a year after the event took place.

I'm thinking that "Tales of the Corps" will feature the GLC issues. But those will probably be collected separately, and milk us for everything.

i know that, i was just saying, if we have to wait that long to even get the darn thing might as well wait another month or two to even get it at a lower price

Well, I won't be getting it at all, I was just pointing out DC's continued inability to get collections out while they're fresh.

Who cares about this story a year from now?

June and July may sound a long way off now in November, but remember that this mini series doesn't even wrap up until what, March? And that's IF there are no delays! DC is putting out information on collections that in some instances haven't even been written or drawn yet!

And none of those collections sound like they are collecting the issues of GL or GLC.

I would've imagined they'd be in their own tpb, titled simply along the lines of; Green Lantern Corps: Blackest Night.

At least that seemed logical to me. >.<

What 8 cancelled one-shot series? GLC Quarterly? Very doubtful.

He means the oneshots of Catwoman, Phantom Stranger, Starman, etc.

I swear it wasn't me. I actually didn't even notice it said that until you pointed that out.

I assume West did that intentionally.

Also, 8 issues sounds right for that trade, as 22 pages times 8 is 176 pages. Maybe it'll have the three Tales issues, then five of theones shots or tie ins? With a volume 2 picking up from there?
