Episode #233: Age of Pymtron

Oh! Uh, it’s, uh, time, ah, for another episode of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast! In this latest episode, the Marvelous Iggy and Bryan are re-joined by wayward brother Tazer for an installment wherein the Warriors Three discuss the latest slew of casting news for Thor: Ragnarok, including Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, and Karl Urban, and also speak to the interview wherein Director Shane Black describes a version of Iron Man 3 where the ultimate evil was a female – until Marvel corporate came down. In reviews, Ben tackles an event he really has no stake in with Civil War II #0, and Bryan indulges Iggy with the return of Hank Pym / Ultron (Pymtron) in Uncanny Avengers #9. That’s our show for this week, folks! Be sure to subscribe to us on iTunes, rate us favorably and leave a kind word in review, and join us again next time for the next episode of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast!

Episode #234: DC Did It Better

Heil DC Comics! We bring you the latest mind-bending installment of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast, and, boy, is it a barn-burner of an episode! We have a full complement as The Marvelous Iggy, Bryan, Jon, and the most frequent part-timer that we’ve ever had, Tazer, all gather to discuss the most noteworthy news from the last couple of weeks. The Warriors chime in on the relaunch of the Marvel NOW! Initiative, movement on the Captain Marvel flick in terms of both cast and crew, and the reclamation of the film rights for Namor, the Sub-Mariner, by Marvel Studios and what this means for his future in the MCU. In reviews, the Book of the Week is the very controversial issue of Steve Rogers: Captain America #1, and how could we discuss the content without also discussing the blowback? All that, plus individual reviews: Jon cuts Bendis off even though the writer swears he’s good for it with Invincible Iron Man #9, Ben is ready to surrender with Civil War II #1, and Bryan is back on board with the blood in Old Man Logan #7! That’s our show for this week, folks! Remember to subscribe to us on iTunes, rate us favorably and leave a kind word in review, and join us again next time where we talk about that time in the 1980s where the world almost ended... it was kind of a big deal, I guess, what with it being labeled an ‘Apocalypse’ and all…

Is this film lost, stumbling in the dark following blind leadership, or is this film a second coming for the storied franchise? Join us as we four Mighty Warriors mount up and ride on to discuss the good, the bad, the oh-so-ugly parts of the latest film, and what we should expect and want to see from the future of the franchise—what better can be built with what’s left of this movie? Episode #236: The Times, They Are A-Changin’

Uncork the hard stuff and pass the bottle around, because us old men of the comic book-collectin’ game are drinkin’ whiskey and rye on this episode of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast! The Marvelous Iggy, Jon, and Bryan all lament a bygone era as they list off the new series solicitations for Marvel NOW! 2.0 with waning enthusiasm. There’s no small amount of rage, indifference, and confusion, but maybe it’s just us… maybe it’s our own fault that we can’t recognize the state of our own Marvel U anymore… Ugh, delving into reviews of books that we probably won’t even be reading several months from now, Ben and Iggy talk about Steve Rogers: Captain America #2 and how it pissed everybody off, Jon included, Ben reviews the latest issue of Scarlet Witch #7 all by himself, and Bryan gets by with Civil War II: Kingpin #1. Well, that’s it for us this week, maybe forever depending on how deep we get into these liquor bottles… Join us again next week, maybe, I guess… also, subscribe to our sinking ship on iTunes, rate us okay and write kind review (please?), and then… eh, who knows, who cares… where’s that damn bottle of whiskey… ugh…

Yo.

upon listening to the last eps of my FAVE comic podcast in all the intarwebz, I came away w/3 things:

1) Old Man Whirlyburger gets major props for "Fro-Bot".......

2) the Tumblr Kid wants ppl to stop complaining about everything.....

....and 3) the despair & disgust that made me leave Marvel alone (for the 2nd time) is now starting to creep into Iggy, and I honestly feel sorry about that.
:/

Episode #237: Everything is Awesome!

Well, howdy-do there, loyal listeners! Isn’t it a great day outside today? The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and we’re beset by news of new series and new trailers coming out of San Diego Comic-Con International 2016! After kicking things off with news of Dr. Banner’s terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day in Civil War II #3, we pick right back up again with all the Marvel news goodness coming out of San Diego, California. First, we break down the news of the latest comic book series to be announced. Then, Marvel Studio, hallowed be thy name, takes the spotlight with new casting, new trailers, and brand new animation projects announced for the near future! So much promise! Ain’t it grand? After the news round-up, we delve into a brief review segment where we lay the love on thick for Wolverine! Bryan reviews Old Man Logan #8 with flashbacks to the fall of the heroes on Logan’s old world, and Iggy reviews All-New Wolverine #10! Wow! What a great week this has been! Before you go on out into the world, carrying all that joy, I hope that you’ll remember to subscribe to us on iTunes, rate us favorably and leave a kind word in review, and remember to join us all again next time for the next exhilarating episode!

Episode #238: Geek Culture is Culture

It’s a Two-Man special episode of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast! With Jon off fending for himself against the angry Asgardian denizens partaking in the local fare of Oklahoma, The Marvelous Iggy, a.k.a. Ben, and Bryan get together to run the gamut of post-SDCC comic book news in the Marvel world! Topics include: Joss Whedon potentially helming a Black Widow solo flick, the current projected release schedule for Marvel & Netflix products, the buggy release of the HD re-releases of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2, and more! Seeing as it is a two-man show, each man reviews two books this week! Iggy tackles Steve Rogers: Captain America #3 and realizes something startling about the layout, and the loss of innocence of Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel #9. Meanwhile, Bryan toes the company line and, for a change, praises Bendis’ writing in Civil War II #4, and addresses the fallout from the death of Bruce Banner in Totally Awesome Hulk #9. And that’s our show for this week, folks! Don’t forget to subscribe to us on iTunes, rate us favorably and leave a kind review, and join us again next time for another exciting installment of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast!

Episode #239: This Show has Vertigo

Hello, hello — WHOOOO-oooo-OOOOA! What the hell is going on here? Why, it’s another episode of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast, now with less idea of what the hell is going on- in the comic book world, in our own show. In the news this week, the Marvelous Iggy, a.k.a. Ben, leads Bryan and Jon through a colorful discussion despite the lack of actual news happening; though the boys to get around to discussing the return of Doctor Otto Octavius- Doc Ock- to the Marvel proper, the lack of connective tissue between Marvel Studios and Marvel television and the causes thereof, and the much-maligned development of the Gambit solo flick. Meanwhile, in reviews, Jon can’t tell which way is up and which imprint his book is under while reviewing ROM #1 from IDW (Yeah, it’s /that/ kind of a week…), Ben tackles the end of all magic in Doctor Strange #10, and Bryan deals with the end of the first arc in Moon Knight #5. That’s our offbeat show for this week, folks! If you can navigate it, please don’t forget to subscribe to us on iTunes, rate us favorably and leave a kind word in review, and join us again next week when, hopefully, it isn’t such a slow news week…

Episode #240: It’s Marvelous Again in America

Our fellow Americans, we stand before you today on the precipice of another exciting edition of the Mighty Warriors Three Marvel Podcast! Today, the Marvelous Iggy and Bryan stand before you ready to talk about the real issues: about the release of the main Luke Cage trailer, about the confirmed and rumored casting additions to Spider-Man: Homecoming, and about the rumored choices for Cable and Domino for the sequel to Deadpool. We’re here to talk about the issues that truly matter- the comic book issues, that is, as Iggy delves into Scarlet Witch #9, and Bryan reviews Civil War II: The Accused #1. Moreover, Iggy and Bryan discuss their nominations for President and V.P. of the Marvel Universe- the results may shock and horrify you. We are not like our opponents, dear friends, and so we’ll keep this brief: please subscribe to us on iTunes, rate us favorably and leave a kind word in review, and join us again at the next campaign stop! That’s all for this week, folks, and God bless America!

Yo.

on the issue of casting for Cable, all I can say is this:

this guy here

looks more like

than this guy here

.

and Ive seen a few of KCs filmed works; he's not an unknown to me, but he just doesn't fit the mold IMNSHO. KC would make 4 a better Cyclops, but Cable?? nope, sorry.
:/
