Could be in favor of the rumored Abrams approach. Shit. McQuarrie is the better writer of the two.

Meh. Sounds like par for the course with WB and Hollywood. I'm sure there have been countless GL scripts and pitches WB has passed on in the last decade. This is just one of them.

Geoff's will have only the distinction of being the latest.

Agreed. I will be surprised if his version gets made. Or any really.

His version of GL/GLC admittedly wasn't based on any cannon material, so we're probably better off. The idea of the next GL film and Superman being connected though is interesting and may be an idea WB is trying to run with... would be one reason Geoff's script is coming along so slow. It wouldn't be the first time WB or DC has used some aspect of a creator's pitch and just moved forward with other creators attached.

How could they be attached? Maybe show Tomar Re failing to save Krypton in time before Superman was rocketed off as an infant in the past if they want to recap Supes' origin? Or if a GL/GLC film comes first, maybe they're partially responsible for a Superman villain getting to Earth [like Mongul or another enemy escaping a Sciencell]?

Id hold off on being upset till more details on his pitches come out. It seems like not too long ago that people were upset about Matthew Vaughn not getting a shot and then when details of his pitch came out it seemed like we dodged a bullet.

Also according to this article they did and get him on board after Fallout came out buy by then he'd already committed to more MI.
