This appears to actually be happening. Mark Hughes from Forbes and the guy at Batman on Film seem to have known something about it already. I don't know what to think about this. I will watch it (if it happens) but I wonder if it was better to have rebooted Batman. I understand the choice from a business level though.

I doubt Bale would return unless he's a complete sell out. I have a feeling Joseph Gordon Levit would play the role if they're going for a Nolanverse Batman, or annother actor would play Bruce as Bale would have nothing to do with it. personaly, I want Levit as Batman, my family agrees with me he'd be good for the role (plus my mum hates Bale for some reason as she thinks he's ugly. She only really likes actors for their looks.) I don't think a reboot of Batman would work in JLA without a Batman film establishing him in the DCA Cininatic Uni first, I'd rathe rthey stick to a franchise people know and love. However, I want to retain the idea that Bruce died. I know alot of people think he survived and we even saw him with Selina at the end (yes, I watched the film and saw that. I was confused at the cinima), but I'm doing what BDD did with Alien 3 &4 and pretending that never happened and Bruce infact died and Alfred was just imagining him there. I just think it ends Bruce's era as Batman so much better. Plus I think Bale wouldn't work so well in a team of powered beings, he seems too much of an outcast. Levit would play it well though.

I want to see them go ahead and make a good JLA movie.
![]() I couldn't care less if they tie it in to Nolan's Batman films, since the only effect that would likely have would be on casting. They aren't likely to actually continue plot threads from those films into a JLA movie, I would think. Not without it having been planned when the films were made, which it wasn't.

Well, yeah. Sucky casting would tend to make the movie sucky.
But the result of this rumor being true would likely just be that Bale would play Batman in it, and I don't personally consider that sucky casting, even if there are probably better candidates (I haven't given it a lot of thought). I can't think of a lot of ways that this rumor being true would make a JL movie worse (or better, without knowing who the alternative to play Batman is), or really have much effect aside from, as I said, casting Bale. Hence, I don't really much care if the rumor is true or not.

Or it could somehow take place in between Begins and Tdk, or creatively rewritten to fit in between tdk and tdkr.
That way there is no "how is he alive" bit and they could have a bit at the end of JL with Bats telling all the powered heroes to stay away from gotham. it's his town.

@ A-Train
I think he'd do the job okay, however I'm not too fussed about him. But he would be my direct choice for a JL movie. @Robinson That is a terrible idea. I'm just going to leave it at that. |

I'm all for this idea, but maybe Bruce will be smart enough not to use the Batman voice in the presence of polite company, a.k.a. fellow superheroes.

We've been kinda discussing this in the Justice League Movie thread and I have to say that I find it to be the most unbelievable part of the rumor (the other parts being that Nolan wil godfather all DC movies and that Snyder will direct the Justice League movie). Does anyone know what the turn around time on disproving the JGL will be in Man of Steel and the Planet Hulk movie rumors were? I think the same guy who broke this at Latino Review "broke" those stories as well.

The biggest problem that I see with possibly integrating the Bale Batmanverse with JLA, or any future DC films for that matter, is how Bale's trilogy was as closely grounded to reality as possible. Characters like Superman, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, etc. wouldn't be there. I think you'd pretty much have to either pull Batman out of the reality that Bale created, or pretend it's limitations didn't exist.

Batman Begins - Batman summons a swarm of bats via machine [B]The Dark Knight[B] - The police force is flat out incompetant. The Joker just runs around blowing up hospitals and taking over boats and shit and no one can stop him for some reason. He would've been shot on the spot. You really think one guy could do all that shit in the real world? - Why wasn't Batman shot in that scene in China? The Dark Knight Rises - His spine gets broken and then they fix it. By pushing it back into place. Manually They weren't realistic. Nolan approached the material in a serious manner that allowed the movies to be seen as something other than "just a comic book movie". Did he eschew the camp/popcorn feel/comedy that was present in The Avengers? Yes, but that doesn't make it realistic. I could easily see Nolan's Batman existing in an Inception type movie...and that definitely wasn't realistic.

Bulging disc is different than broken spine.
