Default DC Holiday Special-Beau Smith

Christmas comes a little early this year for comic book readers. On
December 9, 2009, DC Comics will ship their annual DC Holiday Special
just in time for the holidays...but this year is different.

B'Wana Beast!

DC Comics writer, Beau Smith (Guy Gardner, Batman/Wildcat, Catwoman/
Wildcat) is bringing back the much loved, but under rated King Of The
Jungle, B'Wana Beast in a very special Christmas story that is action-
packed and carries a very unique twist.

Beau hopes that this is just the beginning of a new age for ultimate
Alpha Male superhero. There are many more layers to pull back on the
jungle wildman. With the support of the readers, Beau hopes to be
able to kick start a whole new era for B'Wana Beast. The art for the
story is by noted Conan and Punisher artist, Gary Kwapisz!

It may not be our buddy, Guy Gardner, but should be just as much manly fun!

The Diamond Distribution order number for the DC Holiday Special is
OCT09 0223. Make sure you ask your local retailer to order it for you.

Merry Christmas!

Most definitely Beau, i've already ordered mine!

Looking forward to your GLC Annual next year as well.

So Beau, what do you think about the Global Guardians? Personally i think they would be a great fit for you as well! B'wana beast could be part and parcel of a new set up based in Africa. You could bring back Buck and the monster hunters and tell some really cool globe trotting adventures.

Hell, a while back i even suggested that GUY could temporarily join the team with TORA and Beatriz. The title: " GG and the GG's".

This is cool, Bwana Beast is an interesting character.

But...he was killed in Cry for Justice. Will this be sorted out? Forgotten? Retconned? New character?

Either way, you have my support.

The Christmas story for the DC HOLIDAY Special is a new story with the return of Mike Maxwell The Original B'Wana Beast.

Freedom Beast, created by Grant Morrison died recently in the DCU.

Thank you for all the kind words.

I hope you guys enjoy this short Christmas story.

Ah, right on. Although that sort of seems like another "let's go back to how things were" sort of move by Didio, should be interesting nonetheless.

Uh um wikipedia says this "Mike Maxwell returns in Animal Man #47 (May 1992), corrupted and possessed by the destructive force called the Antagon and transformed into the evil Shining Man. In the ensuing battle, Maxwell is killed." I'm not going to lie, aside from knowing what the character looks like and what his powers are, i don't know the character; so is that still canon? Did he end up coming back? If not...should i quickly delete this post and act like nothing happened??

I think one of the 3 Crisis' that have happened since then erased that from continuity

Either that, or no one actually read Animal Man #47 except the dude that wrote the Wiki article.

I will have to admit that my knowledge of all the continuity of the DCU is not at the expert level, even though I've been reading them since childhood (Trust me, a loooong time ago...Haha)

If this short story is taken well by readers and DC, then I have a very detailed history/plan for B'Wana Beast that respects/tributes all versions and stories of B'Wana Beast. One I think old and new readers will find compelling and most of all entertaining.

Your amigo,

Beau

Sounds real nice, can't wait for it to come out already; also if dead, we can just say something happened with a reality punch from Prime, harharr.

I haven't read anything of yours since Guy Gardner: warrior ended Beau (you seemed to disappear, or at least I couldn't find any of your work!) but I'll definitely pick this up!

Cheers.
