Effigy will be back at some point we all know that. It's just a matter of Black Ring or some wierd Controler Based resurection.

Not only could Effigy come back at Black Lantern but keep in mind. The Spectre melted him into a power battery. That could come back to bite either Kyle or Hal in the ass later on.

The same was thought about DR. Light when he was traped inside a power battery and he came back. Escaped from Kyle's in Vol 3.

Sadly, I'm really unsure about how Effigy could come back from this one. There's dead, there's REALLY dead, and there's "The Spectre just got yo ass" dead.

Thinking back a few threats have come back after feeling the Spectre's wrath. I think a cool scene would be whoever is over the Black Lanterns makes a deal with the Controllers for the soul of Effigy. With them dying out they need somebody like Ion and Effigy could be that for them since Agent Orange wants the power for himself. They could get the hot head back for something like the soul of Agent Orange, because he'd make an awesome undead leader of a BL army where Effigy wouldn't. Of course in the end the big bad of the Blacks could turn on them, hopefully after Effigy is back in action.

I think it's the dumbest thing imaginable. Although it's kinda funny because my younger nephew used to call the Human Torch the Human Flame or the Living Flame or some shit and it was pretty funny. Light dying was understandable but Effigy hasn't done close to what some of the Society members have in terms of evilness.
