I watched that with the family. Loved the bit with the helmet.

Don't know what Coppola (who normally casts well) was thinking. At least he hired Oldman, who's awesome.
I agree about Reeves. And Rider can't act for shit either. Luckily for her the period piece called for something stiff enough for her to handle.

I like this movie quite a bit despite those two actors. I've read the original novel and despite the attempt to sex it up,it's still the closest adaption I've ever seen. It has a lot going for it, especially Oldman's performance.

No wire hangers were harmed in the making of this movie.

"Tara: I speak perfect English. I also cook 815 international dishes, perform 637 sexual acts; use all the popular home appliances. Shall I cook you something?
Chad: No. Thank you.
Tara: How 'bout a blow job, maybe iron your pants? "

This movie is awesome; even better than the first.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1- I used to think that this franchise wasn't as bad as most say... until I watched this last installment. This was complete and utter crap. Most of the first hour of the flick consisted of Edward and Bella kissing and making out. This movie could have been wrapped up in 30 minutes.

Ha. I like all the side characters. Maybe if they took out Bella and Edward what was left of the films would be interesting. E.g., Carlyle Cullen who is a vampire but also chooses to work among blood as a doctor, is a fascinating character. So too is that guy who was a Confederate Officer and vampire-maker. Trouble is, their stories add up to about 20 minutes over 4 movies.

Delpy wrote, directed, and starred in this pic on the infamous Countess Bathory. We know very little for sure about Bathory (which the narration actually mentions), so it's hard to speak of its veracity, but it portrays her as guilty of the murders without falling into the sensationalism of showing dozens of pretty young girls drained dry.

It's still showing up for me, but I'll look for another. It was Cat People 1 & 2.

A documentary on Stoker, the fictional Dracula, and the real Vlad Tepes. It had interesting info though it was a bit dry (probably too much so for the casual viewer).
