So West actually went and listened to the audio which me and Iggy were too lazy to do and it seems that the GLC book offered would've run concurrently with Morrison's book, which means DC isn't opposed to multiple GL books if they have the right writer(s).

What's with the Doom reveal in Justice League? Selina and Harley are back to evil? This whole thing feels weird. Like it's an event, but is not tying in to Bat, Supes, GL, etc.

It feels like DC's books are split up into several silos headed by each big name creator (Snyder, Bendis, King), stuff ain't always going to line up between them.

Agreed. It's just odd to have an event that's supposed to be universe-wide and dominating a year, but not affecting so many key lines.

Is he? I thought it was a new Australian book. Why would he introduce completely new characters in Suicide Squad?

Eh, when a creator starts tweeting about a new DC project with #SquadGoalsDC I'm going to assume Suicide Squad.

Interested in the Lord Death Man/Batwoman story, especially because LDM is hilarious, but otherwise not really seeing anything that grabs me.

New Spectre stories somewhere? I'm game.

I like a lot of what I'm seeing with these. I'd personally give the line the old school approach and make them "Action Comics, Detective Comics, Sensation Comics, Brave & the Bold, DC Presents, etc." proper. Figure out a way to tie everything together into whatever continuity they're trying to spin now.

I'd love to see "Strange Adventures" reprinting some Adam Strange material, Captain Comet material from just before the New52, classic Will Payton/Starman since he's prominent in the JL books right now, maybe something like Lobo, along with new GLC stories featuring alien Lanterns more, and maybe new material featuring a fan favorite like Kyle Rayner, Hawkman, or Starfire. I'd gladly pay $5 for some gathered cosmic DC stuff.

The downside is that if you want the new story but already have the old ones (which is the case with me for a couple of these), you're essentially paying an extra buck for doubles. As it is, since the only GL story is a repeat and since I really need to cut back my comic budget, I think I'll skip these. But I'll play it by ear.

Funny how excited we get.over a mix of new and reprint material. This kind of brings back the fun of comics in the 70s and 80s for me. I'm more interested in these than the new comics DC makes.

I'm glad that they expanded the line and stopped with the Wal-Mart exclusive stuff. You know how sometimes we get reprints in black and white like those old 500 page Showcase? What if some of these $5 specials had some of the reprints recolored as well? Like some of the covers for those specials, new coloring can make even the oldest stories pop more and it would give longtime fans another reason to think about purchasing the story again. Tell me one colorist who wouldn't wanna try and make Kirby's New Gods look even more badass.

For example, imagine DC getting the old Kyle era colorist Moose to recolor some of the Green Lantern/Green Arrow adventures. It'd be almost like seeing a movie remade with new visual fx and actors, but the classic feel is still there.

Like this:

What's old can be new again to a degree. Put the resources back into making the classics relevant again so we don't have to keep relaunching and relaunching. Imagine a 500 page special with golden age reprints colored to look like black and white tv shows, a couple classic stories recolored of like the GL/GA era or the GLC era of vol. 2, then some reprint of a GLC Quarterly story featuring an alien Lantern, and a new story featuring another Earth GL.

I applaud DC's effort to get their stuff back out there in the hands of more casual fans. There's still so much more they could try though. I'd totally syndicate some Superman comic strips again, and get somebody like Doc Shaner to do them. Maybe re-record some of the old radio serials with new voices as well as try to create newer ones if it catches on. If I were WB's animation studio developing the animated films for DC I'd go back to having a couple ten minute features at the beginning or end of the films like how Superman/Shazam had Green Arrow, the Spectre, and a more graphic Jonah Hex feature.

Yeah, and the Squad itself in #1 is exactly the right mix of big names and expendables to keep a reader on their toes. I mean, Magpie? Zebra Man? Cavalier? I literally cannot tell who will die first.
