Default Manly Thread

Just curious, what's the manliest thing you have ever done? Climbing a mountain with your bare hands, brought a complete clunker of a rusted metal roaring back to life in near pristine condition, grew a beard that would make ZZ Top blush, changed a tire by ripping the lug nuts off with your teeth? Women, feel free to chime in as well, doing manly things is not exclusive to men.

For realsies tho....

probably the MANLIEST thing I ever did was spend a summer in Alaska

Worked from 7:00 am - 9:00 am
15 minute break
9:15am - Noon
hour lunch
1:00pm - 3:00pm
15 minute break
3:15pm - 6:00pm
hour dinner
7:00pm - 9:00pm
15 minute break
9:15pm - Midnight... or sometimes as late as 1:00am and a few times as late as 2:30am

7 days a week.
6 weeks straight

It's the closest I'll ever come to any kind of military duty.

A series of skin illustrations, with one being on my chest (which is pretty damn painful) and another on my ribs (also very painful, and much large and more complex than my chest art).

The manliest thing I ever did: I spent 4 days in the Ozark with nothing but my tent, clothes on my back, pocket knife, and bug out bag (razor, saw, aluminum foil, a few bandages and ointments, couple of alcohol pads, and my aquastraw). Best time of my life, their is nothing like waking up in the wilderness to the sound of wildlife stirring itself awake and realizing that you are going to have to work to survive for the day.

The chest one was the United States Army's Field Artillery logo, and the latter was Rod Steiger's rocket tattoo from the 1969 adaptation of Ray Bradbury's The Illustrated Man (has all these concentric circles, stars, rectangles, Xs, and whatnot in it; almost hypnotizing with no colors to orient yourself with).

Small world, one of my good friends is a captain on a boat out of Dillingham. Did you get to live in one of the awesome and super cozy cargo trailers? lol

Yes, but not if you stabbed yourself.
