Default Green Lanterns #6 delayed until...December?!?

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/09/...r-to-december/

Bleeding Cool just posted that Green Lanterns #6, which was due out tomorrow, will not ship until late December. If this is true, that's a three month delay. I wonder what's up? Are they reworking the issue? It had to have been done of close to done. Are they reworking the next few issues?

Perhaps they are trying to get it to line up with Hal and the GLC before they do some crossover? It seemed to me like some of the stuff in Hal's comic should be taking place before the stuff in Green Lanterns, since Baz was with the GLC prior to Rebirth (though in other ways that doesn't seem to fit, so it may just be not much thought was put into it).

Taking it off the publishing schedule for three months is losing DC six issues of revenue, right when the book is selling the best it ever WILL sell. I can't see them delaying and losing six issues of sales over a continuity issue; it's not like continuity is much of a concern anymore there.

Something is up though. This has me very curious.

Yeah, you're right. I wasn't thinking that through. Very odd. But even if they are revamping it entirely, that seems like a long time to skip. I mean Emerald Twilight's last second changes only made them skip ONE month, if I recall correctly. And that was a pretty big change...

I'm calling bull until I hear something official.

I did wonder why there was no GL solicited for tomorrow, though.

Issue #6 was suppose to be a one shot story wasn't it? Might make sense to shift that to December since the last issue didn't wrap up the current arc.

Oh well.

I don't really believe it, although it wouldn't surprise me. DC keeps screwing things up.

Originally due out next week actually, there's a typo in the Bleeding Cool article.

Right but they don't always update promptly.

That being said DC did release the variant for issue #8 saying it's due out October 5th.

Bleeding Cool: Green Lanterns #6 Was Pulped But Will Be Out Next Week?
Quote:
Yesterday, Bleeding Cool reported that Green Lanterns #6 was late. Three months late, slipping from September to the end of December, according to Diamond Comic Distributors.

I stated that this may be a placeholder date, from Diamond to be revisited at a later point.

And so it appears.

Because Green Lanterns #6 was printed by DC Comics as normal and was meant to be published this week. But because of an error, I am told that involves a speech balloon on the cover, the print run was pulped and reprinted. The placeholder date was put in place on the system. But the corrected version should be out next week.

However, there were some complimentary copies sent out to creators, editorial staff, reviewers and the like. In the Bleeding Cool comments, colourist Blond noted that he had received comp copies.

I understand that are quite likely to fetch a whole lot of money on the aftermarket.

Well, that certainly is a reasonable explanation. Not as satisfying as the book being shut down for 3 months, but it makes sense.

The real question is whether Dave is an obsessive enough collector that he will feel compelled to try to get his hands on one of the original copies of the issue.
