Ray Fisher (Cyborg from the live-action JL movie) goes on to say that Whedon's treatment during the 90% reshoot was abusive, gross, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Also, that he was enabled "in many ways" by Geoff Johns.

So you want Green Lantern to revert to Ron Marz's vision of his world? Because not only was Green Lantern on the verge of cancelling prior to Marz & Banks, but I'm pretty sure DC doesn't want to call attention to a certain writer who came before him.

The concept of a proper reboot is simple. You go back to the very beginning of a comic, and as you retell the story, you leave out the parts that sucked.

DC has already done this with the Morrison seasons. They've scaled back the backdrop, put the focus on Hal, and brought back allusions from the Silver Age. The next phase will logically be opening up the story again with multiple titles and more characters. I don't expect this story with Fisher and Whedon to change that.

What you're talking about will cost DC money. That won't happen, even if WB investigates Johns and finds that he's guilty of unsavory behavior. DC will continue to add characters and tell space opera stories with Green Lantern because those are intrinsic to this type of mythos.

Enjoy the smaller-scale stories while you can, because the next writer will likely be under an editorial mandate to find places for characters and concepts that are currently dormant. With the HBO Max show coming up, DC will want to advertise and capitalize on as many GL characters as possible.

Johns created numerous characters that will never go away. DC is still milking his GL concepts, most recently in Dark Kinghts Metal. Jessica is one of those characters, and you don't have to like her to understand that she's been one of the most visible GL characters in the last 5 years. You have to be oblivious to deny that.

I'm sure Johns will be fine. The accusation is too vague and not damning enough. He said "We can have lunch," according to this person. Furthermore, she didn't post any receipts. She just said something.

Regarding Green Lantern, one of the main reasons I opted completely out of GL is because I got tired of the glut of Earth Lanterns. I already dealt with ones I like getting ignored often, and DC added insult to injury by making even more Earth Lanterns to fight for very limited panel time and opportunities. Nowadays, I'm just like, "Do whatever you want, I don't care," and interestingly, I'm perfectly content in that position. I don't see myself going back to being a super fan of GL. Isn't worth the trouble, and the creative content they typically put out isn't up to snuff, in my opinion. Too mediocre, too boring, too disjointed...

I'm hoping that this was just a misunderstanding.

As for the Fisher comments, I still don't know what to make of them. I haven't seen any follow-up articles on that other than Gal Gadot's stunt double apparently agreeing with Fisher.

The problem wasn't Marz. The problem was Raab, who didn't know how to write Kyle and removed all of his personality (or what was left of it after Winick had gotten rid of it during his run), trying to turn him into Hal. The book had sold fine under Marz.

Marz is my favorite GL writer, possibly my all-time favorite comics writer, so I wasn't criticizing him in any way. Perish the thought. I really liked Winick's contributions to Volume 3 too. I was only trying to understand Trey's vitriol towards Johns, and if he wanted the scope of GL's world (since vol 3 is the opposite of Vol 4) to revert back the pre-Johns days.

Conversely, I would welcome a Johns return to GL. Since DC is producing "seasons" now, perhaps Geoff has a 12-issue idea that he's keeping under wraps for us.

For that matter, while I'm gleefully wishing for things, I'd like my favorite dynamic duo, Marz & Banks, to reunite for a Blue Lantern Corps title. Since Kyle, Simon, and Saint Walker aren't doing anything these days, they could finally complete that Venditti storyline and resurrect the Blue Crew.

She's not going anywhere. She's a pivotal face in the DC Girls show and merchandise line. Being partially created by EVS wasn't enough of the woke brigade at DC to erase her so nothing Johns can do will have her erased.
