Default DC Universe at New York Toy Fair 2008

There's a good shot of Mattel's upcoming DCUC Hal and Sinestro figures, as well as the new 3" offshoot line at:

http://www.wizarduniverse.com/021708nytfdcuniverse.html

Wizard also has a video that has brief glimpses of Mattel and DC Direct product:

Nice. I really, really like those 3.75 inch figures. I'll definitely be getting all of those. I'll have to get the DCUC Hal and Sinestro though too.

Here's then link to all DC pics taken - 13", DC Direct, etc. Enjoy

If you look at the DC Direct - you will find the GL Series 3, and it looks like Sinestro will have a little friend in the package (Highlight for Spoiler) Despotelis (End Spoiler)

Default WTF

Um, do these people realize they made the Sinestro Power Batteries fucked up? And Hal look's like he's doing stomach crunches while standing

(Sorry about the size)

The Sinestro battery must be on a swivel, and has fallen in the pic, for the ToyFare pics had the 'body' of the lantern standing up in the middle of the handle which is accurate.

BTW - this new DCD Sinestro pack in is way better then the GL Battery painted yellow that we saw previously

I noticed that about the yellow batteries too, I wish they would've just molded the thing in one piece instead. If the production version has that problem, I might need to apply some clear nail polish or super glue to help it stick in place.

And forgive me for being too lazy to check, but has that style of power battery actually shown up in the comics? I distinctly remember Sinestro batteries being portrayed as just "yellow lanterns" in the Sinestro Corps Special and in the Ganthet's vision of the seven corps. The only time I remember seeing the battery that Mattel is giving us was in an Ethan van Sciver concept sketch online, it might've been Wizard's site.

Thou art correct sir, every single Sinestro battery in the comics is just a regular GL one that's yellow. 'Cept the big Central Battery that came to earth with the rest of the Sinestro Corps. (but even that one was pretty standard except for the handle-thingy )

That's a really cool Sinestro, but I wonder why only the one in blue has yellow eyes. Hope they package those with a pvc ring like DC Direct used to.

well frankly classic Sinestro shouldn't have a battery at all now should he?

Exactly, that is why he WON'T be getting displayed with one in hand in my shrine!

(and those batteries drooping like that, is a pretty serious design flaw)

I didn't miss it. I think it's great! That's why I want them ALL!!! I wonder who else he'll be packed with? Here's hoping they make Kyle, John and Guy figures as well.

Angry REDUCE THE IMAGE SIZE, YA POOZERS!!!

Sweet Jeebus, REDUCE THE SIZE OF THOSE IMAGES, ya poozers!!! This thread is taking FOREVER AND A DAY to load for those of us that don't have cable or fiber-optic broadband connections!!!

Have some consideration for others when you post images!!!

If you can't find smaller copies of those images from the original source, here's what you do:
  1. Save the image(s) you want to post on your hard drive in a location of your choosing.
  2. A) Use any photo editing software you might already have to resize the picture to a more appropriate size (no larger than 800 x 600 MAX!) and save the smaller version, or B) download and install IrfanView! It's a great, simple piece of software that allows you to easily resize and crop photos, and it's 100% FREE!
  3. After resizing the pic, save it as a JPEG, as JPEGs are noticeably smaller in size than other file types. For example, a GIF or PNG will be a larger file, sometimes several times larger in terms of the number of KBs when compared to a JPEG, and will therefore take a lot longer to load.
  4. Upload the now smaller version of the image to the online photo hosting site of your choice, but make absolutely CERTAIN the site allows HOTLINKING of images stored on the site. I recommend Photobucket for this purpose. Those that use geocities or other sites notorious for NOT allowing hotlinking will be summarily disposed of in the appropriate manner! -->
  5. Once you've got the image uploaded, either A) copy the messageboard IMG code provided by your photo hosting service, and paste it into your post, or B) copy the image's URL, and use the Insert Image button on the message posting window to insert that image into your post.
See! Do you see? It's just that simple!

--JTC (Who currently gets a whopping 130 kbps on his internet connection... which IS faster than dial-up... but only just. )

See, this pic here is a PERFECT example of what I'm talking about! The frakkin' thing is 3,072 by 2,048 pixels!!! There's absolutely NO reason to post a picture that frakkin' huge! That's roughly TWICE full 1080 High Def resolution! That's just too damn big to display on a computer monitor! I don't know ANYONE that runs their computer monitor at a resolution anywhere NEAR that high!! And there's at least 3 pictures that large in this thread!

Here it is resized to a more appropriate resolution... and I rotated it to fix that problem, too!

Makes me want to look at the DC Direct Black Hand again to see which one looks better. Something definitely looks... off with this one. Maybe the fact that his costume isn't BLACK, for one thing!

(Sorry, Jim, buddy. I'm NOT picking on you specifically... I just took the opportunity to fix the rotation of that picture for you while I was making my point at the same time. )

Eh... I'm getting tired. I'll do it tomorrow... or Sunday.

BTW, figured out what's bugging me about that new Black Hand... check it out:

That's the DC Direct one. I KNEW the colors on the Mattel one looked way off!

Well, you know, unless they just pointed so many lights at it that it washed out all the color.
