They're misstating what the Deadline report said, the Seth Rogen stuff was in the past:

We heard that there was interest from the production in Seth Rogen for the role of the Penguin, however, but I hear no offers or talks occurred.

And now Paul Dano is the Riddler.
How can they all have more than two minutes of screen time each?

Who says they do? There is probably some kind of "mastermind" at the end, though.

          Not sorry.
Well, I like Kevin Smith's movies, but if someone said "good comedy movies" I probably would think Billy Wilder and Neil Simon first then turn to 70s and 80s spoofs (Brooks and Zucker), but I don't watch only the best all the time.

Michael Giacchino To Score Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’

Michael Giacchino confirmed at tonight’s Settling the Score concert at Royal Albert Hall in London that he will be scoring the upcoming superhero movie The Batman. The film is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson in the title role, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon. Dylan Clark (Oblivion, Bird Box) is producing the project. Giacchino has previously collaborated with Reeves on his last four features Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, War for the Planet of the Apes, Cloverfield and Let Me In. The Batman is set to be released on June 25, 2021 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

I figured he'd score this because he's been the composer for all of Matt Reeves' movies. I'm glad Reeves didn't go to someone else and I can't wait to hear what Michael Giacchino does with a DC movie. Now Giacchino will have one other franchise he scored in common with Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer: Mission Impossible, Spider-Man, Planet Of The Apes(except Zimmer), and now Batman. I wonder if he's still doing music for the Dr. Strange sequel, MCU Spider-Man 3, and Jurassic World 3 because all of these movies are supposed to come out in summer 2021. I hope he manages all of them without burning himself out but he might not be able to score one of them.

Not surprising. I'm a bit miffed about him getting all the "big franchise films", since I'd like if more neglected composer had gotten shots at doing bigger movies (I would have preferred if Christopher Young had done Doctor Strange), but I can't deny that musical-wise the film's not in bad hands.

If Colin is in, I want a Depp-as-Bulger-level transformation for him. Penguin should be middle-aged at the least, older than Bruce by a clear but not necessarily significant margin. Farrell is a talented actor, given the right role he can be very good, so if this is done in the vein of Black Mass then he should be solid.

I actually feel like that's a worse choice than Jonah Hill (and I like both actors in certain roles), but maybe that's just me.

Would it kill anyone to cast an Alfred that LOOKS like Alfred?!? There have NEVER been a live action Alfred that looked right. Not that there really has for Bruce Wayne either of course, but Alfred has always irked me. They need to find John Waters slightly less gay brother and sign him up.

Jeremy Irons had a mustache. Gotta count for something, right?

I don't know, now I'm totally envisioning a John Waters Alfred.

Years ago, when they were casting for the Fanastic Four movie I remember talking with a friend about who should play Doctor Doom and I was trying to say Jeremy Irons, but mistakenly said Ron Jeremy (I'm not even familiar with his work, but had seen him on Howard Stern multiple times). Then, neither of us could get that idea out of our heads. [The best I can find is Ron Jeremy as Mario:]
