The worst part of this though, is that for some reason we're considering this any form of news?
Why are we so attracted to this kind of grief/misery/unfortunate circumstance porn? It should be beneath us to be so immediately interested in such pitiable piece of non-news.

Seriously, do you really think "honesty" shields you from being considered a jerk if you just walk up to somebody and say, "You are the FATTEST person I've ever SEEN!" even if it is true? To outline people's faults for them when not asked, and when it serves no useful purpose, IS generally considered rude (especially if said faults are not under their control). I can certainly see circumstances under which it would be considered bullying.
see, it looks like thats EXACTLY wat happened. *thats* where the "cyber-bully" -tag comes from, given her statements made in this interview (start @ 1:11):
+ YouTube Video
if this were a case of her getting unbidden emails or the jackass who runs up to her and says "YOU'RE UGLY AS SIN!!", I would agree wholeheartedly, but this looks like stems from her img being posted for a shitfuckton of ppl (YouTube) to see, and while it wasnt the nicest thing to do that certainly doesnt make U a bully.
personally, I like her take on it (altho her "I'll remain strong, and keep putting out books and such" -comment was a bit much, since its not like they will give a rats if she does or not......)

If you say something to for no better reason than to make someone feel like shit, then yeah it's bullying. There's no legitimate reason to say something so harsh to someone, except with the purpose of being hurtful or entertaining yourself at an another's expense.
That type of behavior is indefensible... I don't want anyone to go to jail over it or anything, but to say that isn't a form of bullying is a little bit naive. Now you'd never call Erwin a "Wussy"

if saying a negative comment about something for the purpose of making the other person feel bad is bullying, then theres a TREMENDOUS NUMBER OF PPL in the world who would qualify as being 1 that likely wouldnt have ever thought they did......including a shitload of them on this board.
and come on bro, U know theres a diff between being a douche & a bully.

The verb form of bully literally means to "treat abusive" (Merriams), which is the way that it was used in the article, as a verb.
Someone might just be a douche, but that doesn't make their comments any less abusive, and thus they are engaging in bullying. Ignorance of what the word bullying means doesn't excuse a person from the reality of their behavior. Now you'd never call Erwin a "Wussy"

yea, but the context in which *that form* of the word is used implies continued/on-going behavior...........which is not the same as a 1-off comment.
so again, Im not of the opinion that THAT would make ya a bully or even "engaged in bullying" as the case may be. not in this instance.

but this wasnt an attitude directed AT HER, merely ABOUT her.
if the comments had found there way to her directly, then ya might have had a point, however somebody clued her toward *them* and as such its not the same thing.
sure, there may still be comments made about her visage when some person or other come across the YT-link (or watever else uncomplimentary stuff is out there), but an honest comment thats NOT shoved in her face is still exempt from wat we would typically call bullying.

As for directing comments about her and not to her, that's a fucking cop-out. Bullies at the school I went to said shit about people to their friends, real close to where the person was sitting and was highly likely to hear...that didn't make their behavior "exempt" from being abusive and socially unacceptable behavior. They knew it was likely to be heard. Now you'd never call Erwin a "Wussy"

I cannot agree with the notion that a negative comment made about a subject in a discussion that theyre largely unaware of = abusive behavior. thats too narrow-minded a descriptor lacking any context, and works under the assumption that unfavorable opions about somebody SHOULDNT be said in order to not offend somebody, regardless of the likelihood of them ever finding out about it.
also, is 1 thing to have a conversation about somebody WITHIN EARSHOT and not directly at them, its entirely another story to leave a comment about another person on a wall miles away from them.
they are NOT the same.

if yur willing to view *that* as bullying, then U should never make another post thats anything BUT neutral..........
*I* wont view it as such, but who knows who else out there may take the same narrow-minded stance U have here.

Anyone play games on their cell phone? I usually play Word Mole and Brickbreaker. On my BB Torch, I had a Brickbreaker high score of 850,000+ with 302 lives when I accidentally hit the "new game" button and erased the score. While I was playing, I got the Laser and my finger apparently slipped so when I tried to fire the laser, I ended up quitting the game. Man, I was pissed.
I was planning to get to 1,000,000, take a pic with my cell phone and then quit. It took me nearly 2 months to get that far.
