I hear a lot of people raving about this new take on Sinister. I didn't like the first two issues, but I'm suffering from mutant withdrawal right now so I might pick up the trade too.

Issue 13 of Wolverine and the X-Men was very good. I especially liked that Warbird still wants to have sex with Iceman.

So I flipped through Uncanny today; funny stuff therein. Sinister's exploding cows made me think of Hera cursing Annabeth in the Percy Jackson books.

The adjective-less X-Men book is actually being really well done since Brian Wood took over. It's not connected to any of the AvX crossover, so Wood's free to craft his own story. He's only been on since issue #30, so I would definitely recommend picking this up to cure your X-Men event fatigue with some good storytelling and killer art by David Lopez, as seen in the preview for the next issue a few posts back. Judging by October's solicits, it looks like Brian Wood will be staying on through Marvel NOW!, so hopefully there's a nice long run to look forward too that can be kept crossover-free in the future as well.

So I just finished Morrison's New X-Men run. A lot of good there but some bad there as well. The art was a jumbled mess for most of it. And I was definitely not a fan of the Silverstri issues, in art or in story. Still, the development of such a large cast was done very very well. The biggest problem I had was after Xorn revealed himself, Magento wasn't written very well. I'm still not sure if it was just his own conflicted ideals or the drugs that caused all this. And how was Emma able to see Xorn's history if it was just a bit of good acting and well used Chinese contacts?

Anyway, I don't think I've read a book that had such a large and interesting cast develop so many different subplots and have them all payoff so well. Absolutely loved that. Very disappointed that Frank Quitely left after the Riot story though.

Yo.

I just flipped thru AvX #8: 1) so, is Namor guilty of commiting an Act of War, since he *did* willingly & openly attack another soverign nation?
2) will Scott leave him to sink w/the Titanic, given he's no longer part of "the Phoenix collective"??
3) hey, will we get to see "Wakanda vs Atlantis" as a follow-up story to this??
4) so, Im guessing that NOTHING will happen to Utopia over wat is clearly a public relations nightmare.....
5) I wonder how long it'll be til Namor & Cap are joking amicably bout this at the next Invaders -get together??
6) cant wait to see wat happens between T'Challa & Storm over this
7) Spiderman had, yet again, the best line EVER
8) Im *still glad* I havent wasted any money on this, but this WAS the funniest ish to come out yet........

Legacy #270:

Was excellent. Magik's prison was certainly clever and incredibly hard to escape (the way she trapped each Avenger, especially snake-limbed Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel battling a leech-headed Rogue) was great. I also liked Rogue's plan to escape by tapping Magik's regular powers. Unfortunately, it all went to waste. At least now we know how Rogue ends up in the last arc of the series. Artwork was lovely, of course.

Wolverine & the X-Men #13:

The entire issue, I kept getting the feeling that things were going to turn out just like when Kitty contacted Colossus during his stint as an Acolyte in Fatal Attractions. Very sad to see that my expectations were met, though I really must commend Aaron for his quality writing; the characters' words had weight. The most surprising part of the issue, I must admit, was the one panel where it showed what Toad did with Husk's old skins. It was just so fucked up and funny that I couldn't help but laugh uproariously at him. Bravo, Mr. Aaron, bravo. The artwork was well-done, and extremely poignant on the last page.

Just got done reading the Wolverine: Evolution trade. Lovely art accompanied by horrendous scripting and characterization (fuck you, Loeb). Now I just need Sabretooth Reborn to be over with.
