Well, i don't mean being faithful to an entire continuity... More like staying true to the premise behind each element and character from the comics... For example... A red lantern ring can't be taken off without the bearer dying instantly. On the show, however, razer puts the ring on and takes it off as he sees fit...also, the original premise of the reds is that they're pretty much rage driven mindless beasts... Razer's pretty eloquent on the show. Even in the Red
Lantern book they stayed true to those premises and came up with a way to make the Red lanterns a bit smarter and more rational.

In my opinion, when they change the basic premises behind a character, then it stops being the same character.

JLU and JL respected those basic aspects of the characters to some extent... We never saw something like the manhunters being created by the controlers or stuff like that... They tried to stay as true to the characters as possible and that's why the show was so good.

Also, I AM a fan of what Johns did with GL. Everything he's done. I just wished he'd move on to some new stories and characters... Keep going with the world building he was doing prior to blackest night instead of going around in circles telling the same stories with the same characters over and over again... And I'd like for him to stop the unending and unnecessary retcons.

o, did anyone notice that razer can take off his ring at will and be unharmed? i thought you needed a blue ring to get off a red...hmm maybe when saint walker comes around they will go more in depth with the relationship with the two colors

For some resason I have a feeling Razer will eventually become a blue lantern. I could be totally wrong but I could just see it.

Just saw ep.4; pretty good. I thought the saving of a ship was a good one-off story.

I like that Razer is kind of refined (quiet, eats properly, small movements). That's a nice contrast to the red ring.

As to Aya, you know Hal is going to hit that. They just have to come up with some family-friendly way to convey it.

Sooo, an enemy of the Green Lantern Corps, wielder of a colored ring, who lost his love, who tried to defend his homeworld, murdered Green Lanterns and destroyed a world, is forced to work with Hal Jordan and confront the sins of his past on a path of possible redemption ..... sounds kinda familiar...... ?

So I watched all the episodes and I gotta say this is a great freakin show! Oh, how I wish they had done this show before attempting a movie. It would have helped to slowly and steadily built a fan base among a younger audience and gotten kids more familiar with the characters and concepts. Plus, it's really well done. Josh Keaton makes a damn fine Hal Jordan I must say, especially considering what a damn fine Peter Parker he also made. Love the Spider Guild, the yellow element, Aya, Kilowog. I even like Razer - not really sure where they're going with the whole Red Lantern thing, but he's a much more interesting character than I expected.

It's funny, this whole lost in space storyline almost feels like something that should have been done in te second season or something, but it still really works to establish the characters and the world. Great stuff. I still wish Hal's costume was a little more interesting like 'Wog's and Razer's are, but other than that I like the art ad animation more than I thought I would.

Hal and Captain Kirk are pretty much the same character. Hal will figure out a way to take that tinker toy to Pound Town.

Plus, it's the closest Hal can get to doing a spacecraft so it's win-win for him. You know when she assembled he thought "where's the cockpit on her?"

I liked it. I am not looking foward to the Love story between Iya and Razor, that they are foreshadowing. I like this show. Hal keeps every thing light, fun and simple.

The series is great so far, it more than makes up for the failings of the feature film. Good stuff overall, a few small quibbles. But GL is finally getting the treatment deserves without having to share the spotlight with the JLA or anyone else.
