Rob Liefeld has announced a new volume of his creator-owned superhero series Youngblood. According to Liefeld, the new creative team will consist of X-Men '92 co-writer Chad Bowers who will co-plot with Liefeld and script the series, and newcomer Jim Towe, who Liefeld discovered on Twitter after Towe posted redesigns of the Youngblood characters, seen here.Liefeld announced the new series in a video interview with Nerdy Pop.
Liefeld launched Youngblood in the early 90s, quickly reaching the million-seller mark before the title burned out amid delays.
Though it's been relaunched several times, Youngblood has been dormant for many years, with several false starts, including a 2011 revival that never came to fruition.Liefeld has an uncharacteristically self-deprecating attitude in the interview, saying they plan to avoid delays by having three issues in the can before the series is even solicited, and joking that he “didn't draw it -- that's why it's good!"
The new team will include mainstays such as Shaft and Badrock, each of whom will get new powers early in the series, along with latter day inclusions such as Doc Rocket and Suprema, as well what appear to be some new characters.
Youngblood will launch at Image Comics some time in 2017 according to Liefeld, in time for the series' 25th anniversary.

Bram Stoker and Eisner Award-nominated writer Cullen Bunn (Harrow County, The Sixth Gun, The Empty Man) returns with debut artist Danny Luckert (Haunted) and colorist/letterer Marie Enger (Pistolwhip, 2 Sisters) for a chilling new series in REGRESSION. The new series is set to launch this May.
REGRESSION follows Adrian, a man tormented by ghastly waking nightmares. Pushed to a point of desperation, Adrian reluctantly turns to past life regression hypnotherapy as a means of understanding and treating the unwanted visions. When his consciousness is cast back through time, Adrian witnesses a scene of horrific debauchery and diabolism before waking up. But Adrian’s more unsettled than before and something dark and unnatural has followed him back… Now Adrian finds himself descending into a world of occult conspiracy, mystery, reincarnation, and insanity—from which there is no escape.
"I think most readers know how much of a horror fiend I am," said Bunn. "What many people don't know is that my father was a professional hypnotist for many years. While it wasn't part of his on-stage act, he often conducted past life regressions. During these sessions I saw people describing other time periods with pinpoint accuracy and even saw someone speaking a language they did not know. I also witnessed some really extremely creepy regressions that planted the seeds for this story of supernatural horror conspiracy."
Perfect for fans of Bunn’s critically acclaimed HARROW COUNTY and OUTCAST BY KIRKMAN & AZACETA, REGRESSION is a frightening exploration of the wickedest corners of the untapped psyche.
REGRESSION #1 hits stores on Wednesday, May 10th.

Finally cracked open the second (deluxe edition) volume of Saga. Still great. Probably the most creatively beautiful and just fun book I've read since All Star Superman. Anyone jumping on, I fully suggest double dipping. Grab the single issues because the story is so addictive you'll want to read it as soon as it drops, but the Deluxe Edition is almost worth the long wait.

I actually quit on Saga. I liked it, but the last few issues weren't doing as much for me and I feel like he often is just trying to be shocking and/or relevant. Mostly, though, I needed to make some cuts to my comic budget and since I'm character-loyal to DC properties (e.g., I couldn't imagine getting one Batman title and not the other), some indies got cut.

I love Image I have every issue of Spawn and the Walking Dead. I have most issues of Savage Dragon, I jump on and off that title as the mood strikes me. I LOVED the new Prophet series, I wish that kind of heady sci-fi would come to the pages of GL. I also have the full Fear Agent run and Witch Doctor run (so disappointed that ended up not really going anywhere). Image rules!
