That too. I actually get a big kick out of lending people movies, which is another missed opportunity with streaming.

I can understand that. Personally, though, movies (and owning them with all the features in the best format available) is important enough to me to make the sacrifice. I'd give up a bunch of my other stuff to keep my movie collection.

Which is why I'm glad I have the full set of Avatar the Last Airbender.

Most of which is now usually released on YouTube in due time by the company. Eventually I'm sure a service like Netflix will have a "See more Content" feature where you can watch YouTube clips on the side. If it already doesn't exist. They might also just make it extra episodes on the seasons.

My goodness, I swear to God, I will NEVER collect anything that I can't hold. Music, movies, tv shows, comics, books...I have to have it in my hands. For books that I like I go out of my way to find more expensive hardcovers or slipcases. Comics? Even when I buy collected editions I prefer hardcovers. I like having my BR and DVD library right where I can see it--in my living room in my bookcases.

I don't know what I'll do when the day comes that things I want are digital only. I might pop a vein in my forehead!

Yeah, for the purposes of collecting, anything non-physical is just...unsatisfying.

However, not everybody actually "collects" the media they consume. I know that for my part there are some things I collect (AND read/watch/play with, there is nothing I ever collect just to have. No MISB for me) and other things that I just consume and move on. Anything that I'd be willing to just check out from the library, absorb, and then return I'm probably fine with dealing with a digital format (though comics are a special case, as I cannot enjoy them shrunk down to the size of a portable reader, or read piecemeal by scanning around a zoomed in page. Given a reader that could handle full-size comics, or comics that are designed to fit a smaller size page, I'd be fine with those digital...if I wasn't collecting them).

I probably would!

Even with music, I can't imagine my Rush or Dream Theater collection stopping at one point with CDs, and continuing on as some file in my computer. Fuck that.

So I've watched the first 14 episodes and holy crap do I love this! The CG animation is awesome, I love the way the Red Lanterns are depicted. Plus new characters Razor and Aya are pretty damn cool.

Hopefully gonna finish out the rest of the season later today.

Sym-bionic Titan was incredible and I'd heard there was a campaign to get another season going. This news pretty much kills that, though I had hope it would get another season similar to Big O after the right execs got behind that show.

Mattel really dropped the ball on the Young Justice figures. They had the right idea, but piss-poor execution. They should have used the pre-existing DCUC buck molds and just made new heads, and kept the "Build-A-Figure" idea going. If they had done it that way, the show would probably still be on the air.

Instead, they created a new line (with a useless diorama in most cases) that was about an inch smaller with less articulation and a higher price point. It made very little sense. I remember seeing those figures at Target and TRU and they never moved until they went on clearance... and some are still collecting dust at TRU as I type.

Honestly I think Mattel's toys are garbage. I bought the GL stuff because I'm a fan but overall I don't like the figures they put out.

^This. I stopped getting even the GL stuff. I got the Sin Corps Batman and Manhunter, but I don't even display them.

My son Jordan talked me into a rewatch of GL:TAS, and we're watching it right now. Man this show was good! Such a shame it didn't get to keep going for a few more seasons because I really enjoy the 26 they did.

After rewatching over half of the animated series, I felt like my 2 dvd sets weren't good enough so I went online and bought the show again on bluray. It comes as one set instead of two; no other special features to brag about, just blu ray condensed the way it should have been from the beginning. It came in the mail yesterday.

Feels strange picking up a GL item I feel GOOD about buying when I'm done...

Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris cameos in DC's Youtube Series "DC Super Hero Girls" . I've only watched the latest episode and the very first episode though so I don't know how often they appear or how relevant they have been.

Hal's in the new DVD movie "Hero of the Year".

He's in several scenes, one of which features he and Barry dancing during a rehearsal for the school play. I kid you not.

I bought the DVD film for my youngest daughter, who is currently collecting the 12" dolls. Obviously, its purpose is to create a young, female fanbase for DC properties, but it still has some funny aspects for older fans like Principal Waller and Vice Principal Grodd.
