12 Monkeys was a good one, ever see the film it was based on? La Jette? A French independant movie with basically the same plot but a very strange cinematography.

No taking away from 12 Monkeys, truely an awesome film, just saying if you like it try to track down a copy sometime, its worth a look.

Above all movies, my ultimate numero uno choice is:

        Who Framed Roger Rabbit ???

Why would I pick it above Tombstone, and so many other quality films ???

Well, here are 20 movies I LOVE, but of course, they are in no particular order and they are the ones that come to mind right now..
Like Nived, when I say, for example, "The Matrix", I enjoyed the complete saga..
It's hard to choose, I love all kinds of movies, from Perfume: The story of a muderer to Chocolate, or all the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp movies, but these are some movies I just don't get tired of watching over and over..

          MATRIX.

          V FOR VENDETTA.

          THE COUNT OF MONTECRISTO.

          THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST.

          SPIDER-MAN 2.

          X-MEN 2.

          UNBREAKABLE.

          NUEVE REINAS.

          ACE VENTURA.

          BATMAN BEGINS.

          PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 3.

          THE MUMMY.

          TRANSFORMERS.

          50 FIRST DATES.

          THE MASK OF ZORRO.

          THE EXORCIST.

          MEN IN BLACK.

          I, ROBOT.

          TROY.

          STAR WARS EPISODE 3.

Oh, I know.. I'm beyond geekness..

I cut about 10-15 out, but this is close as I could get. Depending on the day, these are all movies that stuck with me long after I first saw them, either in the laugh department or making me think a bit. And Usual Suspects for my favorite curveball.

Okay... this really was hard... my first list had about 60 titles on it... I had to swindle it down to 20... so like 3 or 4 titles may fluctuate over time, but I think this is a pretty accurate top 20 of mine... the first three are my all time favorite films, but the rest are in no particular order. Anyway... here you go.

              Kingdom of Heaven
              The Last Samurai
The Lord of the Rings (trilogy)
              The Postman
              Equilibrium
              Star Wars (saga)
              Children of Men
              Day of the Dead
              Man on Fire
              A Man Apart
              The Prestige
              Best of the Best
              2009: Lost Memories
              Infernal Affairs (trilogy)
              Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
              Troy
              Braveheart
              Tombstone
              The Princess Bride
              Dogma
Do good. Be well. Make happy.

                Dogma
And I can't believe I left off Princess Bride <bangs head on deask>. That is one I can see just about any time.

I like most of this list a bunch too. Kingdom of Heaven is one I need to see a few more times, but it was very underrated by critics. It has some fictional elements, but the heart of the history is there and explains a lot about why things have developed in the modern Middle East.

Man on Fire is brilliant, but it just a tad depressing. Not that I have to have all happy and adventure in life, I just liked the hero too much in that one.

I put my list together, and cam here to post it. I read every one of your lists, and there are some GREAT choices on there! Some stuff on your lists I haven't upgraded from vhs to dvd yet, but still enjoy. Others on your lists and mine I just could find room. 20 SEEMS like a big number, but in the world of movies it's not! It was hard plucking them off one at a time, but REALLY hard when I got down to about 25. Anyway, here's my list. I tried to put them in order, but that was the mood I was in when I made it. A few of the spots would stay the same no matter what, but others if you asked me in a month would float around the 20 slots.

                    20 The Thing (Carpenter)
                    19 Back To The Future
                    18 Teple Of Doom
                    17 Terminator 2
16 Raiders Of The Lost Ark
                    15 King Kong (1933)
                    14 The Departed
                    13 Goodfellas
                    12 The Last Crusade
                    11 The Two Towers
                    10 Return Of The Jedi
                    9 JFK
                    8 King Kong (2005)
                    7 A New Hope
                    6 The Godfather
                    5 The Empire Strikes Back
                    4 Revenge Of The Sith
                    3 Jaws
2 The Fellowship Of The Ring
                    1 Return Of The King

You have the Departed on there... thats cool cause I have the Infernal Affaris trilogy... lol... The Departed was a remake of Infernal Affairs, in case anyone didn't know... I almost put The Departed on my list, but chose Infernal Affairs instead. Its just something about the original trilogy (particularly 1 and 3) that makes it stand out more.

Another automatic for me that I missed. Great pick.

It reminds me I also liked Green Mile a lot too.

Eternal Sunshine was really interesting as well. I need to see that one again.
