Default Justice League Of The Future

A Justice League Of The Future Comic Is Coming
Quote:
Earlier this week Bleeding Cool told you about a new Justice League International title, which seems now to have been confirmed by the last issue of Justice League: Generation Lost.

At the time I said I knew of another Justice League title in the works and hoped to bring you news when I could.

Well this isn’t it.

This is news of yet another ongoing Justice League series, Justice League Of The Future, from the team who brought you Batman Beyond. A future DCU-set comic featuring the Justice League from, well, the future.

Not the Justice League One Million team though, we’re talking more ten years in the future, and something closer to the team that appeared in the Justice League Unlimited episodes, “Once And Future Thing” written by Dwayne McDuffie, such as War Hawk. So it may be in actual continuity with the Batman Beyond
comic.

More to come, I’m sure. And I’m still chasing down news on that other Justice League title. With that Jeff Robinov announcement that Warners are once again looking at a Justice League movie, upping the number of Justice League titles to Avengers numbers will probably not hurt…

I'm guessing they'll just be focusing on the JLA in Batman Beyond, I feel like I read Beechen say we'll see more of them in there.

As for the other JLA book, I won't even speculate on the Johns/Lee shit that has been rumored for years now. When it happens it happens. Remember when Robinson's League was supposed to be a big deal?

I'd like for DC to make one good Justice League book. Not a bunch of second- and third-stringers spun off into multiple books.

Meh. I dont like future stories that are set this close to the present. It just gets me frusterated when DC never moves towards that future its set for itself. It makes me feel hopeful that characters like Terry will finally be Batman one day, but I honestly dont see DC ever getting rid of the old guard they have.

I think we all are. Sadly it doesn't look like it's gunna happen anytime soon. But if Generation Lost was any indication at least the new JLI will be fun.

What I don't get is, why are all the Teen Titans/New Titans/Titans or whatever you want to call them, in the JLA book right now? Don't get me wrong, it's actually a great team, but they should be in TITANS instead of Deathstroke and a bunch of crappy other characters I can't even name because they suck.

JLA should be the big 7 and a few others rotating in and out. Let the Justice League Titans that are in there now have their team back in their own book. Seriously, they cancel THE OUTSIDERS but TITANS is still going? If they want Deathstroke to have his own book, then give him his own title again...

The JLI book sounds fun. I might check it out depending on who shows up for the roster. JLA of the future is fine by me, I'm sure some will enjoy it, but I can't afford it right now so it's not for me.

Can we please just have the real Justice League back in the JUSTICE LEAGUE book now?

Well the current incarnation of the JLA was created when Superman was busy with New Krypton, Batman was traveling through time etc. if my memory serves me, so the big 7 weren't really available. Having the Titans graduate to the JLA kinda makes sense since there was a void to fill and JLA is a bit more of a marquee title/a bigger draw for the average fan than Titans would be.

At this point I'd say kicking Robinson off before he's done telling his stories/completely changing the team and all the work he's put into it would be bad form since he's been a good little soldier for DC as of late. Plus I assume editorial is happy with sales of the current title.

It is inevitable though that at some point we see new Big 7 JLA.

It's not like they are some sort of business whose main goal is to make money.

DC To Publish Superman Beyond
Quote:
Last week, Bleeding Cool reported that DC were to publish a Justice League Of The Future comic, with links to Batman Beyond continuity.

Well I think it will very likely be called JLA Beyond, or something similar. Why?

Because I understand it will be spinning out of another new comic, possibly a oneshot, titled Superman Beyond #0.

Not only that, but Superman Beyond will be written by a former Marvel writer and editor-in-chief with a history of writing future superheroes… accompanied by the art team known for drawing them.

I wonder who that could be…?

Man, I got excited when I read the thread title but then let down.

I was really hoping this would be the future JLA Captain Atom saw in JL: Generation Lost.

I mean, yeah Warhawk, Aquagirl and Micron are sweet (Not a huge fan of Barda or this version of GL) but there was a Lazarus'd Damian Batman!!!!! With Supes holding off a GL invasion of Earth! I WANT THAT STORY DC! GIVE ME THAT STORY, NOT SOME TIE-IN TO BATMAN BEYOND THAT WILL GET CANCELED AFTER A YEAR!

Dont get me wrong, I love me some Terry McGinnis, but not to thrilled about this JLA book.

I actually wouldn't mind reading that story. Anyways anyone have any idea who the Bleeding Cool article is referring to?

Probably stems from his general dislike of future stories in general.

Superman Beyond would be written by Jim Shooter because he was a former Marvel EiC and wrote the Legion of the Superheroes (Future Superheroes).

Not that Either Superman Beyond or JLotF interest me.

It's a bit confusing that this will be called Superman Beyond when there is already a Superman Beyond out there.

I'm going to take them at their word that this is just a one-shot, and skip it. Because I plan to give a Future JLA title at least a try (especially if it has a GL in it), and I'll be annoyed if this ends up serving as a direct lead-in to such a title, without that being made clear.

What a waste...You try to launch a spinoff and you put a team of nobodies on there. There's no reason for me to read this. Unless I had some strange fascination with that Superman costume.
