You should feel that way about the Pine talk, because that's completely true. But I don't think Weaving would have a hard time playing Sinestro. They aren't the same character at all. ESPECIALLY if we're going by that first draft of the script. I just don't see many similarities. Do you guys really hear Agent Smith when you read Sinestro's dialogue? That's hardly the impression I get.

Guillermo del Toro, confirmed that Hugo Weaving star in the Hobbit. So, I'd start thinking of someone else now that him and Knepper will be working on something else as GL is in production.

My dream choice for Sinestro would be Daniel Day-Lewis. Sadly, knowing how picky he is with his roles, there is zero chance of him doing a comic book movie, so it will remain just that - a dream.

He would have never crossed my mind.. but now that you mention it.. I could see that happening, and he's a great actor, but he should play it as a villan less Voldemort-esque and more Red Dragon.

Hugo Weaving is already overdone as a genre villain at this point. He's already been Agent Smith and the (obvious) voice of Megatron in Transformers. There are plenty of other great actors who could inhabit Sinestro with a commanding, layered performance.

We need someone who can play not only Sinestro the villain, but Thaal the heroic Green Lantern as well, since he won't fall from Grace until part two or three. With that in mind, I favor Viggo Mortensen. Watch "The Prophecy" (AKA God's Army) for his performance as Satan.

I've got to back this choice of Hugh Laurie as Sinestro. My personal fav choice thus-far. They could even play his British accent off as 'alien'.

As for Carol Ferris, I could really see either Jennifer Morrison (Cameron from House) or Emily Deschanel (Dr. "Bones" Brennan from Bones) in the role of Carol.

Also, because I can, I'd like to see John Cho as 'Pieface'. (Screw you and your political correctness!

)

And, also, because Hector Hammond needs to be in the movie, I'd fill his shoes with Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The Office). I mean, COME ON, TELL me he wouldn't make a great Hammond!
