I'm hoping Bryan Singer is done with the X-Men franchise (despite me saying that "Apocalypse" being his best film). Or better yet, X-Men continues to fall at the box office and that forces a Marvel/Sony deal between Marvel and Fox.

I agree that Singer should leave, but I sure as hell don't want Disney in charge of the X-Men in terms of films.

Paramount, Disney-Marvel, DreamWorks Animation Tap French Tax Rebates
Quote:
The French national film commission Tuesday confirmed those three titles as having been approved for government rebates on any work performed in France. Also on the list of international productions are two Marvel Animation TV shorts series: “Antman,” from French directorial duo Ugo Bienvenu and Kevin Manach, and “Rocket and Groot,” directed by France’s Arnaud Delord.

To me this is great news. Either him or Brian Tyler would have been terrific. I think Zimmer and XL were getting kind of bored with the genre.

Do you think Disney will make it too jokey? I could see that happening, but I also see Disney giving the characters a better treatment outside of Professor X and Magneto. Moreover, I bet that the X-Men would be in costume more faithful to the source material.

I buy Kebbell's comments. I've followed the production of Fantastic Four as closely as possible and I know there were two huge action pieces that were cut from the film, like when The Thing sky falls out of a jet plane and the huge battle with Dr. Doom at the end.

Black Panther should be an interesting film as it won't be really an origin story, as that was pretty much covered in Captain America: Civil War and it's going to be placed in front of Infinity War, where it will be curious to see if it set up the confrontation with Thanos.

SHARON STONE Brings Her ‘Brand’ (?) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Quote:
Now, according to an AARP profile on Stone, she says her character has "heat powers" and is a "superhero." This leaves a few possibilites for women with fire or heat powers in the Marvel Universe. Looking at what Marvel has planned for Phase 3 and beyond, Stone could be playing a version of the pyrokinetic S.W.O.R.D. leader Abigail Brand.

That might be interesting. The Brand I know is a pretty straight out b$#% (perhaps even more bug-up-butt than even Waller) and Stone can do that.

That would be interesting. It would also be interesting to see SWORD in the MCU proper and not bring back SHIELD back to the films.

Many thought SWORD might be introduced in Agents of SHIELD with the Inhumans running around.

Too bad that Marvel doesn't have the X-Men as I would have love seeing Beast and Brand hooking up in outerspace.

Alfre Woodard plays two characters in the MCU. A character in Civil War and a different one in Luke Cage. At least, that what's being reported.
