Shh. Don't let West hear you badmouth DiDio.

There are no such tales with Green Lantern. We haven't heard anything about some longer cut that the director fought for, but was forced by WB to shorten.

If I had to guess, there will be some deleted scenes on the dvd, but nothing added to the running time of the film itself.
As it should be. Director's cuts should only be when they actually exist: where the studio or MPAA forced a cut the director didn't want.

Eh? I wasn't badmouthing. Merely stating the facts. I figured that whole escape was common knowledge by now.

From my understanding, Didio was being interviewed for a feature on the DVD and while he kept mentioning Hal, they showed pictures of Kyle Rayner or some stupid shit like that will give any Didio hater a reason to scream.

If it isn't a directors cut I'll have to hold off and see what extras it has (commentary etc.) before buying it. I have no intention of picking it up if it's merely the same movie I saw in theaters.

Yeah, he supplanted Kyle with Hal. I was not a mistake; DiDio may be controversial, but he is not an idiot, and he's made his strong distaste for Kyle very apparent for many years. He assumed (rightfully so) that most people watching Emerald Knights aren't comic fans or haven't read Rebirth, and wouldn't even notice.

Back on topic. I wonder if the GL movie release will include some bonus animated episodes like the other GL flicks did?

Martin Campbell doesn't make director's cuts and I don't think he'd be particularly enthused to make one for this movie especially.

There may be a producers' cut, though. Or just a generic "Extended Version Not Seen in Theatres!"

GREEN LANTERN BluRay Set for October Release

Amazon has listed the UK(Region Free) version of the Green Lantern BluRay. The release is, at least for now, scheduled for October 17th. Right now, the film is still in theaters off North American shores, and maybe a few stateside. So for those who still have not seen the film, you are only two short months away from being able to watch it in the comfort of your own home. Oh, and check below for what Amazon has posted as cover art for the film.

They HAD to take his mask off for the cover? How odd.

Yeah, pretty uninspired. Looks like something out of the $5 bin.

Maybe we will get lucky and Target will have an exclusive cover like Star trek,Iron Man,and Transformers. Though with how poorly it did I doubt it.

I hope the american cover for the Blu Ray/DVD looks better than the pic shown above. Eek, I guess they might have took the mask off to get the Rom-Com girls to pick it up.

I still think a Lantern shaped case that glows in the dark and says the Oath when you click a button would be a brilliant idea for a collector's edition .

Guys, take this with a grain of salt but amazon UK's listing for the Blu-ray says it will be an Extended Cut...Oh please let this be true!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...g=bluraycom-21

I did a little more digging around and I got this from www.zavvi.com..."Special Features:
Extended Cut - Main feature runs for an additional 14 minutes."

cool, now lets hope that those additional 14 minutes is of Hal Jordan training in Oa or other action sequences.
