Rising from a childhood of poverty,[1] Balrog was once a great boxing champion and prize fighter. He was banned from boxing for permanently injuring his opponents and accidentally killing one (as well as his illegal maneuvers, particularly his headbutt), so he joined the Shadaloo criminal organization, and worked his way up from the bottom, eventually becoming M. Bison's enforcer.



A portion of Kano's face is covered with a metal plate as a result of a disfiguring punch sustained at the hands of Major Jackson Briggs which severed his right eye prior to the events of the series, with the plated eye being a glowing red orb capable of emitting laserlike beams. Originally a mercenary and leader of the international crime cartel known as the Black Dragon he rises beyond the level of mere brutality and aggression by also being sly and cunning. It was through his resourcefulness that he convinced Shao Kahn to spare his life, and it was through ruthless ambition that he later ascended to position of general of Outworld's armies. Kano combines the features of a cowardly minion, a lone survivor, a crazed madman, and an intelligent commander. His actions have made him the enemy of Lt. Sonya Blade.

I'm actually going to use gameplay tactics to decide this victor. Balrog has some range negating moves, and up close he would man handle Kano.

At range Kano has the edge with his Bale eye and throwing knives, up close though, Balrog won't leave much of Kano unbroken.

He's a mixture of cybernetic parts and organic. No matter how small a percentage of him is cybernetic (whether it's just an eye or a full body with only a human brain remaining), it makes him no less a cyborg; people with pacemakers are cyborgs
