Definitely Hal (GL) and Ollie (GA). I'd even want to do it as a period piece in the 70s.

That's a cool item. Always like seeing or hearing about custom ideas for GL fans.

I wish I had the talent to make my own art, figs, or cosplay. The best I can manage is to put simple models together and repaint (pretty good at that actually; my mother even got me to do her old manger set) or glue figures.

Yeah, classic Hal and Barry. I'd love a movie where they work together for the first time ad can't stand each other at first and make a real bond by the end. Lethal Weapon type of thing. Hal would be the comedy and Barry the straight man.

The deciding factor of why I would go with them instead of GL/GA, is Flash has powers and would be able to hold his weight more than Green Arrow. At least in a film. Otherwise, I think Ollie and Hal make a better combination going by personalities and chemistry.

It's a little disturbing to me that two of these are commonly portrayed as under-aged and the other is a psychopath, but, don't worry, I don't stalk around high schools or anything.

I never really understood the having a crush on a drawing thing. I suppose the obvious rationale is the adolescent desire to BE the superhero also translates into the fantasy of having the girl too. When I was a kid I wanted to BE GL or Captain Marvel, but when it came to women I knew where my dad's secret stash of playboys and penthouses were. For the sake of the thread I'll pick some though from my childhood:

I don't know, that's only one step removed. The odds of actually getting a Playboy Bunny or Penthouse Pet are pretty slim and your "crush" is really only with the image (maybe their voice or their eating habits would drive you nuts in reality). [Ignoring the fact that masturbatory fantasizing and crushes are not necessarily the same thing.]

As to the comics, I'd tend to agree if the representations are cartoony (having a crush on Marge Simpson, for instance, is a little freakier since she'd be hideous in live-action proportions), but most comics depict people in a fairly realistic (if exaggerated) manner that makes it easy to imagine them in real life. The "crush" isn't with any delusion that you're going to end up together, but a kind of fantasy attraction to the look and behavior of the character. I don't see where that's much worse than having a crush on a woman you know you can't have. As you suggest, if comics are already based on the fantasy of being like the hero, it's a small step to fantasizing about getting the girl too.
