Uhm. No. I condemn it. I don't care. It's not about them messing with the bible.

It's the same as someone who would bash a comic book before ever reading it.

I just find this movie idea abhorrent and terrible.

How in the Fuck do you add vampires to that?
You twist it up and have the mark become the catalyst for vampirism.

They arent the first movie to insinuate that vampires began during the time the bible was being written.

      Who remembers Dracula 2000?

The story of Cain and Abel is thus.

They are brothers. Both make sacrifices to God.

Abel uses the best animals in his flock.
            Cain uses his rotten vegetables.

            God blesses Abel. Reprimands Cain.

Cain gets angry and Murders Abel.

Maybe they re-write it so Cain and Abel were really vampiric brothers or something, with Hollywood, they'll bastardize anything if they think they can wring a few more bucks out of it

Yeah, there's all kinds of theories all over literature about Cain being the first Vampire.

I think the Dracula in Dracula 2000 was the Roman soldier who speared Christ when he was on the cross.
              Or maybe he was Judas.

              I don't remember. I've heard both version, I just don't remember which Drac-2000 was.

In White Wolf, Vampire: The Masquerade, there's a whole group of vampires who believe they originated from Cain. If I remember right, MOST of the vampires believe that, in White Wolf.

                      That's Dracula: Dead and Loving It. It's a spoof/comedy.

Agreed, but this isn't the first vamp flick to use the Bible to tell a story. I recall a film - can't remember the title - where the lead vampire was somehow tied to the crucification of Jesus. I wanna say it was in Dracula 2000, but I don't think that's right either. It may have been an Anne Rice work too. Honestly, don't recall the title, but do vaguely remember watching the film.

The whole Cain is a vampire story was already told via the White Wolf Table Top RPG, Vampire the Masquerade.

That's what I thought, but wasn't sure. Thanks for the confirmation.

While I was still married to my first wife, she watched all sorts of vampire and horror movies. I'd watch them with her to spend time with her, but horror films also got her horny, so it meant a guaranteed 'score' for me. Ya know?

To be completely honest though, I've never understood the attraction of vampires and horror films in general. In fact, I often get bored with them, and watch something else entirely, or pick up a comic book, or take a nap. I know I'm an oddball. Heavy metal music also literally puts me to sleep.
