I think Don must have thought that the youtube was actual video of the rape????? that is the only thing I can think of, I didnt watch it but assumed it was a news story or something

And, Malkin, even in my ignorance I meant nothing ill towards you. I just had this picture in my head of that asshole raping the baby, video taping it, and sending it to a friend, who posted it on the web or the rapist posted it himself.

My reasoning behind this is not unheard of.

I work as a newspaper reporter and in the town of Park Ridge, NJ (where I used to be a reporter) some illegal immigrant was hired to paint some woman's home. He actually raped the woman, killed her, took her cell phone and began calling down the list of people on the phone bragging about what he did. He was caught, thank God!

Second, I heard a story tonight about how the body of some man and his kids were found. The man left notes to his ex-wife saying, "I will kill myself and the kids."

And the bastard did.

So, to me, the baby rapist, is just one of many scum bags.

I made mention of the golfer who killed the hawk - several threads back - and how the hawk's death outraged me, much the same way this outraged you (not that I am comparing the severity of crimes).

Would other people agree that to some degree, the internet is bringing out the sickos like never before? When have absolute perverts and freaks had access to a literal world of information? And have been able to put their own "info" back into that world for others to see?

Absolutely, they've been given a forum to feed into their sickest fantasies and connect with "like minded" people. I dunno what it's like where you guys are but it seems like awful awful sex crimes are occurring more and more often, and they're getting worse and worse. I can think of a few off the top of my head in Canada where the internet played a role.

At least a few. It's everywhere, especially in North America (although I could just be saying that cuz I live here.)

I will tell you this, my love of GL has grown being around people such as you. I don't think it would be any different if this were a child porn forum. When you are around people that share your interests, it reinforces them and lets them grow.

Absolutely, they've been given a forum to feed into their sickest fantasies and connect with "like minded" people.

This kind of situation is a consequence of the "freedom" the internet offers. There's always those less "mature" being exposed to "adult" themes that would otherwise not be available to them... and let's not forget, there's always those willing to "recruit".
