Oh, I believe there is very likely "something out there". I just don't believe it has come HERE. Or is likely to. I personally believe that any contact with other life is going to be very indirect, given the distances involved. Faster than light travel is great for SF, because it is much more interesting to read about GOING to strange, new worlds, but I haven't seen anything to indicate that it will EVER be possible (on a macroscopic scale, anyway- faster than light communication might be possible using exotic methods, but the same exotic methods would likely be required on BOTH the transmitting AND receiving ends, making it less useful for first contact).

but like i stated. how does anyone currently know that beings like angels and gods arent a decription of an alien?

i mean hey if you look at history and back when man first began they allways had a story regarding a god and how life started etc etc.

in the hindu religion they wrote about viamas and descrbed them as cities flying and hovering in the air and basicly going to war.

the oldest human civilization is the summerians. now whats really interesting about them is they did some form of description on a clay tablet showing 20 ft gods with a star map showing 10 planets around our sun. they also believe that tenth planet is where they came from.

now a days we are finding more and more new planets so that raises a question

How do I know there isn't an alien race out there with the technology to instantly turn the entire sun into Fudge Ripple ice cream from 15 lightyears away? I guess I don't KNOW that in the sense of being able to prove a negative, however, both that, AND faster than light travel, seem equally at odds with the physical laws of the universe.

You believe what you want. You may not have seen anything to indicate that it will EVER be possible, because of the state of technological advancement we are in. But I believe it may be possible for humankind to one day travel at speeds such as that, and that there may be alien races out there that ALREADY HAVE that technology. I believe this just like I believe Time Travel is possible

Not really, for anyone at any knowledgeable age to think that the 8 plants in our solar system are the only ones in the entire universe then they need a lil bit more edumacation.

Of course as our technology gets more advanced we are going to find new things. For all we know the ten planets on said tablet could be the the big dipper or something.

I am not saying there are not more planets out there. as I wholeheartedly believe that there is. It raises the question that what Technology did the Sumerians have to even see to the Edge of our Solar system at such a primitive time. There may be that possibility that they just saw the big dipper, but I Don't think that. And These ''Gods'' they saw may have been aliens that visited before, that Raises questions in itself

heres a thought we all should think about.

how are we certain that an alien world is similar to our own let alone the science of it?

we can all assume that other life out there may have to have similar traits as us like the whole life needs water debate.

how are we certain that some species dont use some form of echo location to get around or some form of radar? bats and dolphins do.

i wouldnt be suprised if we are living in a neighborhood filled with life out there in the universe.
