People aren't shocked when Zod kills thousands of people. They ARE shocked when Superman does.

Sigh I am talking about the way people talk about the destruction Michael. I.E Superman destroyed all of Metropolis. They say it as though Superman woke and started demolishing everywhere with no battle going on as in there was not battle with Zod there was not giant machine, there were no other Kryptonians. Just Superman, his fists, and all of Metropolis. I am not saying they shouldn't be shocked all I am saying is that some people need to acknowledge that there was a fight going on and a giant machine and it wasn't just Superman showing up in Metropolis and throwing himself into buildings by his own cape or pulling himself back into Metropolis when he is trying to fly away or punching himself into the ground.I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. No one takes them all that seriously and they get bored with them after about 10 minutes.

How many people do you think died when Superman knocks doomsday through those buildings? Or do you think he was worried about the destruction? No. Saving the planet is what's important.

While I'll agree with A-Train in that Superman did not go around knocking over buildings and killing people, I cannot say that absolves Superman from any responsibility for his actions. And for me, it wasn't so much the destruction of the city of Metropolis, but Superman's disregard for Metropolis' citizens.
In Donner's Superman II where there is destruction to Metropolis, he made it clear that Superman's top concern was the protection of the people of Metropolis even though it hampers his ability to battle Zod and his crew, as seen in this VIDEO CLIP.
While in Snyder's Man of Steel, Superman seems to have a blatant disregard for the safety of the citizens of the city, as seen in this VIDEO CLIP where Superman pays no attention the falling building on the people below or the terrified look on their faces. Snyder's Man of Steel casually floats over a tanker truck and allows it to explode within feet of innocent bystanders, (VIDEO CLIP); whereas in Donner's film Superman prevents the tanker truck from exploding with people nearby (VIDEO CLIP).
As Mark Waid put it, Synder's Man of Steel was more about destruction porn than showing the audience why Superman is something to aspire to be.You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. N.W.A., Nerd With Attitude. Straight out of Vulcan!

Naaaaaah. That can't be it...
Seriously, I think MoS is the only time I've ever actually looked at my watch in the middle of a fight sequence. The fights started out really cool, but seemed to go on FOREVER. That's not to say I didn't enjoy the movie. I did, the horrible portrayal of Johnathan Kent aside. But I seriously think they overcompensated on the fighting score.

Moreover, Zack Snyder really makes the audience aware of the people of Metropolis getting killed by falling buildings and explosions caused by the battle, whereas in the animated clip, there is no real sense of people be affected by the battle.
But even if the animated series did imply massive casualties it wouldn't justify doing it again. Superman has been done wrong in his 76 years. Batman has used guns in the comics, but I'd still think it wrong if he did it in the next movie. It's rather like Darth posts, if Superman showed he was trying to stop others from being hurt, or, if like Heide posted, he purposely led the battle away, then the collateral damage done by Zod's work would be more excusable.

Yo.

I don't read much of Superman comics, but at least the ones I recall have reading Superman does show signs of being effected by the fight with fatigue, scratched up skin, bleeding or torn up suit.
That's why I thought the fight between Superman and Faora was entertaining and believable, as Faora looked like she was really kicking Superman's ass and causing damage to him. Plus Faora showed so technique to her fighting. You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. N.W.A., Nerd With Attitude. Straight out of Vulcan!

Exclusive: Lex Luthor’s hairstyle in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ revealed
LexCorp scenes were filmed over the past two days and a source tells Batman News that Eisenberg has “a lot of hair”. It’s not Eisenberg’s typical curly look — it’s a bit longer, kind of loose and wavy, and it’s dirty blonde. Eisenberg’s Luthor has spastic mannerisms, like a 20-something guy that pounds energy drinks all day. I’m told that the scenes shot take place towards the beginning of the movie… so maybe there’s still a chance that Lex Luthor could show up bald by the end? We’ll have to wait and see.
Speaking of LexCorp, we’ve seen a lot of the outside, but I have some info on the inside as well. I’ve been told it’s “f***ing awesome”. There’s a basketball court in the lobby with a giant 30 foot neon LexCorp industries sign.
