Pretty close, I'd say. While he isn't saying, "I want you to go out and rape people", he IS saying, "If you go out and rape people, I've got your back."

I was even more sickened by the report that he, commenting on an Australian missionary who was killed in a prison riot after being raped by a succession of several men, said that she was so beautiful that he should have been first in line. Which, of course, he also dismissed as a joke, not seeming to realize that making such a comment as a joke is STILL despicable.

see, now THAT is something Id call him to task for.....HEAVILY. but the other comment (while very muddily stated) still reads more to me like he'll take responsibility (in bringing them to justice, Im assuming) for the illegal/immoral actions of his troops, than some type of blanket encouragement of said.

You see this a lot. A woman gets pregnant and has a child, then moves in with a punk who resents living with a child who isn't his. The results are never good.

Yes, the guy did make that wedding all about him, but his motivation was the same as any man's who makes a public marriage proposal. He was putting maximum pressure on the woman to accept.
