Aloha, Everyone!
Two Saturdays ago [February 5th, 2011], I was hanging out with a group of my friends (we are all self-described comic book "geeks") as we do just about every Saturday night and one of my pals mentioned how he saw the Hal Jordan / Sinestro 2-pack exclusive at our local Toys 'R' Us.

Without even seeing it, just thinking about it:
That set me off.
I grew up mostly Marvel. [I have NO hatred for DC. I just hate when comic book fans argue the vs.] To me, a good story is a good story. Good art is good art. I don't care what company flag flies over it all.
Anyhoo, I thought to myself, "Green Lantern. Yeah.". For years, I thought, Jedi Order. I'm a fan. The Star League. (The Last StarFighter.) I'm a fan. Because of those facts, over the years, I knew it was inevitable that I would someday become a GL fan.
So, that night, after my friend mentioned that toy to me, we watched the "First Flight" animated DVD. I know we had all watched it before but I actually paid attention to it this time.
I've read a few DC comics over the years, but never really focused / singled out GL in my mind. I read my friend's "Crisis of Infinite Earths" back in the '80s and I remember Guy Gardner in the DC mini-series "It".
The only GL solo comic I own is issue #1 of "Emerald Dawn". Since that Saturday, I have re-read it. [But honestly don't remember the 1st time I ever read it.]
I might be over-dosing, going at this too quick. Risking a burnout. But I have had a nice full week of Green Lantern kick.
Being financially challenged, I opted to see what GL comic books I could find at our public libraries. I found the Sinestro Corps War. Read that. Awesome. Like it a lot. Wondering what other fans feel about the [SPOILER] "Lethal Force" enabled GL corps rings.
I also got my hands on Showcase Volume 1 of the old school Hal Jordan comic books. I'm currently reading that.
I'm also interested in reading the first original Alan Scott GL comics from the 40s (50s?). Haven't found those yet, though.
If I have one noob question now for long-time GL fans it is this:
Now that I have read the Sinestro Corps War, what should I read next BEFORE I delve into the Blackest Night issues?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
