  • Guy's GL jacket

How awesome would it be for DC to offer a replica of Guy's GL jacket?

Who else would give up a testical (or both), stab their mom in the back, turn in their pot smoking uncle to the police, give up their first born to the black market, covet their neighbour's wife, abondon their family and have unprotected sex with a giggelo with a current outbreak of herpies just to be the proud owner of an official Guy Gardner Green Lantern jacket?

The only one of those I might consider, would be covet my neighbor's wife. But only if she was really hot!

The clothing maketh the man and man does GUY look badass with that jacket!

Of course GUY could just be hiding a small beer belly behind it, so hey it suits him to a tee!

And yes of course i'd love to have a replica, the jacket not the belly!

I'd love to have that jacket. I would make my former boss go through all those things you describe so I could have one. That's the way I roll.

It'd be cheaper to have one custom made than buy an official one though ...

Find a local seemtress (sp?) and be surprised ... I designed a jacket for an art parade ... It was more than 15 years ago, but it only cost me about $25 for labor and everything ... My jacket had four different colors, and was made primarily out of purple denim ... I'm sure it would probably cost about $40 now to have the same jacket made, but it's well worth it ... My exwife stole the jacket, and still wears it in my hometown ...

I made one myself-- I found a leather jacket at the Salvation Army, and I un-stitched the arms. I spraypainted it green a couple of times, and then I used some paint pens from a craft store to do the black and white detailing on the lapels. I found a couple of white belts at another thrift store, and I sewed the biggest one on first with fishing line, and then I sewed the thinner one on top. I have a black spandex running shirt (also from a thrift store) underneath, and a black turtleneck dickie (yep, from a thrift store) around my neck. I used some scrap white leather for the background for the logo, and I printed off the logo from the internet, cut it out and then used it to make a template for some green craft foam to make the green part of the logo-- then I used rubber cement to glue the green part of the logo onto the white background, then later the whole logo onto the jacket. The jacket was $10, the shirt was $4, the dickie was $1.99, the craft foam was $0.69 and the paint was like $1.00 per can.

                        Here's the finished result:

I'd sooner just get a GL button and a trenchcoat... to wear in memory of Jack T Chance.

I have to agree with Jack on this one

Believe it or not, in the run-up to Guy's being made a GL again, a clear majority of message board posters were bitching about the jacket and wanted something different.

                              That was just weird.
