Comic shop didn't have this in yesterday, going to pick it up tomorrow. Kinda surprised no one has anything to say about it though...

I'm tired of the effect of the red panels on every other page. It feels more like a printing defect than an artistic way to convey action.

I liked that John outfoxed a new god. The story didn't necessarily do much except that the corps knows what we know about Ayoin.

They probably over use it, which lessens the effect, but I kind of like it. It feels like a musical sting in an action movie. I just take it as part of their style now---like John Woo and freeze frames.

It feels very unfinished to me. Something about the red and white colors with the inks makes the art look very amateurish IMO. I'm not opposed to what they are GOING for, I just don't think it works the way they are going about it.

The first time I saw that I thought "did someone fuck up on colouring?" then I realized it was supposed to be for "dramatic effect". Which worked...a couple of times. Not so much anymore.

Maybe it's just a shortcut to get issues out on time? Like Didio or someone saying "you know, if we skip colouring on 2 panels every comic per 5 comics, it will save us 20 hours doing actual colouring, so we won't have a missed issue. And those fools that buy our comics will think it's super awesome special effects! I am so brilliant!"

I still enjoy the red panels.
