Geoff to blame for underperformance of movie?

I'm not going to say he's to blame, however judging from what the script looked like before he came aboard and what the shooting script looked like after he came aboard, his fingerprints are all over the movie start to finish so no matter what he has to assume some level of it.

I'm not going to say he's to blame, however judging from what the script looked like before he came aboard and what the shooting script looked like after he came aboard, his fingerprints are all over the movie start to finish so no matter what he has to assume some level of it.

i dont blame geoff johns or martin campbell. i do however blame wb though because i personally feel they tried to cater to both hardcore gl fans and people who dont know the charachter.


ive stated before i wish they couldve delayed the film for a bit longer because mcd didnt get cast till what a month before release? also clancey brown wasnt cast till 2 weeks before release.

if this film came out in late july or early august i think it couldve been alot better.

I liked this movie. But if it would have been more like Goeffs Secret origins I would have loved this movie. No one can blame Goeff because we know what his Green Lantern movie would have been like, He already wrote it. And lets not forget that the Bond Killer himself was the director.

If this movie goes down as a flop. every body needs to be a man and take a bite of the Sh!t sandwich.

really, i thought Bush/Palin/FOX News was to blame for this and everything else going wrong in the world today................... really people the movie wasn't that bad (trust me i've seen The Last Airbender) and people should know by now that not every movie is going to be the next Dark Night or Avatar it's just not gonna happen. could the story of been better yeah sure i'll give you that but i for one am happy with what we got

i enjoyed the film also but to me it fell apart in mid film.

i personally like campbell because i enjoyed his zorro films alot.


im not saying the film is perfect or horrible but it started great but really got all over the place in mid film.

now id welcome another film but i want it to stick to 1 single storyline and if the studio has to delay it then do it because this current film felt really rushed

He was, for me, the very best writer of Superman, ever.

I am enjoying his take on GL, but like any other "era" on a long running series, his bag of tricks is getting old. I'd like to see Tomasi take the reins for a while, maybe Judd Winick, or JM DeMatteis. But apart from Blackest Night, Johns has made me very happy. As I said elsewhere: he's the only reason we have a $150 million reasonably faithful film to watch + a tv series. Give credit where credit is due..

I think Goeff has to much on his plate. He is a good writer both him and DC are asking too much of him. I Think his writting is suffering because he is spreading himself to thin.

As far as Campbell. I loved Golden Eye. As a matter of fact it is my favorite Bond Film, and that says alot because I love James Bond! However after seeing Casino Royal. I never want to see a Bond movie again.

I can't really blame Goeff for any fault of the movie. Wathcinjg it, it had all the tools it needed to be a great movie. I think perhaps they dropped the ball with Hammond and made him too laughable, but otherwise all the pieces were there. They just didn't put it together as well as it should have been. I think the editing wasn't tight enough, and it tried to be too many things at once. Also, the score should have been a lot better to sell moments of the story. This all falls on Campbell because he was the director and in charge of pulling it all together, not some writer.

thats odd because i couldnt stand any of the originals but i enjoyed casino royal.

i do wonder if maybe if this somehow gets a 2nd film maybe they can get john faveru to direct?

I can't BELIEVE you just wrote that! What self respecting Bond fan would say Goldeneye was better than Casino Royale?!? I think you got that backwards!
