There is nothing intimidating about the man, even as Vincent Vega I just can't see him as any kind of tough guy

GL was orginally slated as having $150 million dollar budget. Sequels are cheaper to make since the art design, character models etc are already created and there can typically be less marketing. I think its very doable to do GL for around that.Originally posted by Darth_Primus View PostIt would seem the average production cost of a blockbuster film is about $150 million.
Thor: $150 Million production cost
Captain America: The First Avenger: $140 Million production cost
Iron Man 2: $200 Million production cost
Transformers: Dark of the Moon: $195 Million production cost
I think WB could make another Green Lantern for about $150 million.
The franchise can be a money maker as long as they fix the story. The market is there and the character is still popular judging by comic sales and may get more popular with the animated series. If they put a good story in place then they could have a real blockbuster. They need to remember that flashy cgi and star power names aren't enough to make money. I just hope WB still sees the potential to continue.

The character models for existing characters are there, but whatever new elements they introduce have to be designed and such, so it can still get pricey.

I think that would be the case, especially if they do not go with a reboot. I mean, a Green Lantern sequel would have to feature the GL Corp, which means all kinds of CGI characters, scenery and special effects.Originally posted by Robinson View PostThe character models for existing characters are there, but whatever new elements they introduce have to be designed and such, so it can still get pricey.

Was any one here lucky enough to snatch up a steelbook blu ray? I got jipped by Best Buy. Since I live 90 miles away, I ordered online and when I got there they said it was out of stock. aaarghh!! If anyone has an extra steelbook, and would be nice enough to part with it, I would reimburse you what you paid + shipping...and if you wanted some cool GL merch from Six Flags I could facilitate that too.
I already have 2 capes, 2 beanies, some tshirts, just to name a few things.

Do you have a Samsung 65D8000 65"LED or one of the HUGE Mitsubishi DLPs? Just wondering because those are two of the finalists to replace my 11 yo monster projection.Originally posted by Iggy View PostI enjoyed watching GL on my new TV.
Regardless, glad you enjoyed watching GL as it should be. Definitely a great way to break in a new set!

The way to watch GL as it should be is in a theater.Originally posted by haljordan2814 View PostRegardless, glad you enjoyed watching GL as it should be.

Yeah, but going to the theatre can be a pain in the ass somtimes. Not even with money, but it seems more and more people don't know how to shut the fuck up when watching a movie. I constantly see the light of their phones, and it's pretty distracting.Originally posted by SD80MAC View PostThe way to watch GL as it should be is in a theater.
You are a asshole if you talk or do something else during the movie.

I was disappointed in the merchandising for Green Lantern. There wasn't enough apparel. I was expecting more T-shirts, sweaters, hoodies and a bunch of jerseys to be made, but that never happened. Plus, a Green Lantern motorcycle jacket with the logo on the back would have been awesome.Originally posted by haljordan2814 View PostI already have 2 capes, 2 beanies, some tshirts, just to name a few things.

I agree with you 110% I can't stand when a couple brings a baby in with them..then the lil brat starts crying and the parents wait forever to take the kid out. I understand you want to go see a movie but if you can't find a sitter then suck it up and stay home. I'm paying to see a movie not hear your kid cry!!Originally posted by Iggy View PostYeah, but going to the theatre can be a pain in the ass somtimes.
