For John (or any GL) to be seen as equals to Supes and Bats, the audience needs to see what characteristics led to John getting the ring.
As for poor John I don't think his origin story is gonna make him look that Great. He is the Replacement for the Replacement Green Lantern. The less said the better off John is.Take life with a Grain of salt and a shot of tequila!

If WB really wants to create a DC cinematic universe, they'll have to introduce the GA sheeple to men/women behind the masks.Check out my Green Lantern product reviews on Twitter as the Emerald Enthusiast! @EmeraldEnthusi1

Hahahaha DC doesn't even treat their heroes as equals for comics, tv shows and cartoons you think they'll do it for a movie.I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. No one takes them all that seriously and they get bored with them after about 10 minutes.

So how are you guys feeling about the Green Lantern movie these days? Has 2 1/2 years made you more appreciative or more disappointed in it?Check out my Green Lantern product reviews on Twitter as the Emerald Enthusiast! @EmeraldEnthusi1

Of course, part of it is I've watched it more than a half dozen times.Check out my Green Lantern product reviews on Twitter as the Emerald Enthusiast! @EmeraldEnthusi1

I've popped it in twice, once last summer and once in November. Both times I couldn't make it past the part where Hammond does the attack on Hal Waller and his dad. The movie just comes to a screaching halt there for me.

I find It entertaining. I say I have maybe watched it 10 times all the way through. I sometimes catch it on FX. It is just your standard comic film.Take life with a Grain of salt and a shot of tequila!

I'm just curious, which version do you prefer? The version shown in cinemas or the extended version?

I actually Like the Theater version. Yeah It add's a little depth to Hal Character, and How much Hector's life sucks,But all in all I feel that it slows down the pacing of the movie.
Always cool to see in a Directors cut,but not really nessacary.Take life with a Grain of salt and a shot of tequila!

The timing is off in the extended cut. And they tell us the same information twice. It makes the scene showing it the second time feel awkward and amateurish. It really strikes me off that this is the same director who gave us Casino Royale and the first Zorro movie. Why he is so hit or miss is beyond me. Anyway, I prefer the theatrical version of Green Lantern, which is bad because I normally prefer extended versions or director's cuts.

I suspect that the extended edition was mandated by the studio, similar to the so-called "Director's Cut" of Alien which also suffers from bad timing.
