Well, he is now the Worldsoul, but it would be an interesting twist for Nekron to being trying to "free" him from his "prison".

I just can't believe that in a story arc involving the Guardians, the Controllers, the Zamarons and all of the other beings from the planet Maltus that Krona won't be involved somehow.

Worldsoul? WTF is a wordsoul?

And I agree that it seems unlikely that Krona won't rear his ugly head during this somehow. I'm sure he can just appear in league with the badguys without much explanation. I really don't know anything about Trinity or care about it, so I won't have a problem with a quick mention that he got over whatever was going on with him in a book that really had no business hijacking him!

If Geoff had plans for Krona, Busiek wouldn't have been allowed to do his Krona story. Especially with where/how it deposited Krona at the end.

As many balls as Blackest Night has in the air... on top of everything else, Nekron reaching into other Universes within the Multiverse (which is what Krona's involvement would necessitate) just strikes me as too much. That would make things needlessly convoluted. I'm fine with a GL Multiversal story with a Multiversal threat or something... but this story has enough going on without adding such a layer to things.

You really think it'd take that much explanation? Why couldn't it be as simple as a cliffhanger last page? Like the one in SCW special when the Anti Monitor is revealed with his posse? He could already be back off panel.

Plus, there's still 6 issues left in the series. It can't ALL be battles with zombies for the rest of the series. There's gotta be some twists and turns along the way.

That'd be pretty lame/weird. And I don't see Geoff or Didio having given Busiek their blessing to having used Krona like he did if Krona factored into their 2009 tentpole DCU event so heavily. They would have just had Busiek use someone else.

Tether him to kind of the sentient Mother Nature of a newly born Earth-1. The intent is obviously to follow this up in a future Busiek story or somesuch.

Now, Krona will almost undoubtedly receive mention in Blackest Night... he may have even factor into the Nekron/how-the-Guardians-started-their-cause thing (probably in new flashbacks or something, even)... I just don't see him involved in the present day of Blackest Night under the present circumstances. Prior to Trinity I would've bet money he would've figured into things larger.

So based on that cover, it seems that Nekron is finally more than bones now and is slowly growing tissues, muscles and organs... AWESOME!
