I think you're confusing 'Character Driven' plot with 'Not A lot of Action' plot

Or, I'm just figuring out a nice way of saying there's not real action to be found here.


Honestly, after the Blackest Night saga, things should start slow and build back up.

Brightest Day is going to be a year long story with what... 24 chapters?

I know nothing of the Martian Manhunter history, but I'm pretty sure Brightest Day #2 was a (massive)retcon.

So far this feels like the start of 52 where its nothing but vague storytelling and plot shifts. Not a good issue but not really bad either, its just plain. The writing didn't hurt the stories told but I'm not hooked into any of them besides Aquaman, and he didn't get any spotlight in this issue.

You do realize you're an apologist right? You do realize that BOTH of those sentiments have A LOT of fucking merit right? Its fucking possible to have a bunch of talking heads and make it interesting. Its also possible to have a lot of action without fold out posters in comics. Its called balanced writing. Don't waste your and our time coming on here and bitching in every thread that doesn't stick their lips out to kiss the ass of the one you probably call God. Present your thoughts on the topic, reply to others thoughts, or keep it moving. Why bother posting something you could have just as easily kept in your inner thoughts? Here's your provoked response that you obviously wanted. So I'll tell you what you must want to read....

GEOFF JOHNS IS FLAWED. Blackest Night was not very good at all, and Brightest Day presents very little for me, a fan of many many characters in the DCU, to be interested in. When problems with an issue hinder the reader from enjoying it, then guess what? They fucking exist. Don't get your panties in a bunch because some fans don't agree with you and provide reason of why. Get upset with the clowns that don't have anything to say and just pop up in threads to tarnish a book for the hell of it.

This issue wasn't that great I mean I liked all the parts in it except Martian Manhunter's was really slow and not that interesting honestly I hope that it gets better. Also you guys remember this is co-written with Peter Tomasi so it isn't all Geoff's fault with this story. I can't wait for Deadman/Aliveman vs. Anti-Monitor though.
