Well, going into this year, X-Men: Apocalypse was in the bottom half of my most anticipated comic films, and this new trailer doesn't do anything to change that, as there wasn't that thrilling moment that Civil War had with Spider-Man or that Batman v. Superman had with the opening action sequence with Batman taking fools like it was one of the Arkham video games. I still don't like that alot of the footage looks like it's place on a green screen, as it take me out of the movie. I'm still not digging that Mystique is the "Wolverine" type character here, but I understand it in the sense that Jennifer Lawrence is arguably the biggest star in the film.
However, the new trailer does have some really good moments that I liked. Nightcrawler vs. Angel, thumbs up! Nightcrawler vs. Psylocke, very big thumbs up! I just hope Psylocke is more than just another Lady Deathstrike; just a two dimensional henchmen, as I know the other horsemen (Magneto, Storm and Angel) will be more than that. You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. Daredevil Season 2 drops tomorrow.
Here's a cool little behind the scenes video with some new footage, mostly focusing on Punisher.

That's so good. It gives me the tinglies. I never felt any of the previous live action iterations of the Punishers quite captured the character correctly, including Punisher War: Zone. Since I was a kid, I felt the Punisher was the extreme version of Charles Bronson's Death Wish character. Just a guy that was fed and very, very angry. Jon Bernthal appears like he'll be delivering the Punisher I've always envisioned; unattached, angry, unsympathetic and brutal. The other live action Punishers tried to shoe horn in a love interest or someone for the character to care about, to depict the character as a guy with a soft spot. This Punisher only cares about one thing, solving the crime problem permanently.
I'm so looking forward to binge watching this over the weekend.

Your concerns are my concerns. Mystique leading the X-men is just wrong. I don't care if she's young or not, it doesn't even fit the general vibe of the character from the last two movies. Psylocke will definitely be a three line speaking action henchmen but at least she'll be great at it. You can't expect her to be relevant with a crazy history like that. All we can do is hope she steals some scenes and justifies a placement in an X-Force movie.Originally posted by Darth_Primus View PostWell, going into this year, X-Men: Apocalypse was in the bottom half of my most anticipated comic films, and this new trailer doesn't do anything to change that, as there wasn't that thrilling moment that Civil War had with Spider-Man or that Batman v. I want to see Munn's Psylocke in a X-Force flick, but I'm not sure what time period the X-Force Movie would take place. I'm thinking it would take place in present day because of the success of Deadpool, so that Deadpool can be on the team. If that's the case, Munn's Psylocke would be about 30 years older. They would have to time jump Munn's Psylocke or something. I guess Cable could recruit her. That would be something if Cable shows up in this film. You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. Cable pulling an Exiles when forming his X Force would be interesting. I'd imagine a mix of rosters as far as classic and newer eras of the team. Colossus from Deadpool, Psylocke, Warpath, Domino, and maybe Cannonball. Idk, I'll see it though cause after finally seeing Deadpool I'm sold on a new era of mutants. None of the X films were done right if you ask me but Deadpool was a big step in the right direction.

You can't have an X-Force movie without Cable. Nah. Even Ryan Reynolds wants to do a X-Force movie and he's the same guy that wants Cable in a Deadpool sequel. The timeline thing can be worked around like you suggested and like M says below, I think we'll get a mix of the classic teams. Though I guess a X-Force movie would heavily depend on FOX's plans for the New Mutants movie too.Originally posted by Darth_Primus View PostI want to see Munn's Psylocke in a X-Force flick, but I'm not sure what time period the X-Force Movie would take place. Domino sure, though her powers aren't really movie friendly, but I don't think we'll see Warpath again.Originally posted by -M- View PostCable pulling an Exiles when forming his X Force would be interesting. Rumors are that X-Force will be Rated-R. Assuming that's the case, I think it would narrow the cast of characters for the team, meaning they probably won't use the lighter characters from New Mutants.Originally posted by W.West View PostYou can't have an X-Force movie without Cable. I think Domino could work. I mean, this fan film featuring Domino is done really well.

My ideal X-Force cinematic team would be Cable, Deadpool, Wolverine, Psylocke, Domino and Boom Boom. You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. N.W.A., Nerd With Attitude. Straight out of Vulcan!

This reminds me of Jim Lee's variant covers for his X-Men #1.
