However, Olivia Munn can actually speak Japanese fluently.

Bryan Singer must have seen Munn as Wonder Woman and the battle with Cheetah and that sealed the deal to cast her as Psylocke.

maybe if this was 2006 this might mean something, but i haven't seen Munn do ANYTHING since leaving AotS (yes i know she was in IM2 but that doesn't count if someone has to point her out to you, and the Daily Show please she was only on it for 2 episodes mix not worth counting at all ) so i have no idea why they'd pick her over all the MANY others who could pull off Psylocke of the X-Men

I hope Psylocke is not a minor role like Blink was in Days of Future Past, but I'm thinking that will be the case, unless she's one of Apocalyse's horseman with Angel. I could see a battle with Psylocke and a young Jean Grey.

i wouldn't watch the Newsroom even if it was on Netflix (which would be the only way i'd be able to see it), it doesn't seem like something i'd look at

Me too. But iirc, she's got a rep for wanting bigger roles. I don't think she'd do this for cameos sake. Not after Iron Man.

I hope that's the case, in that Psylocke will have a larger role than Blink did in Days of Future Past. The film already has its core characters with Charles, Logan, Eric, Hank and Mystique, and will be introducing Pietro, Scott, Jean, Ororo and Warren and adding Jubilee and maybe Gambit and others.

I'm thinking Psylocke will probably start out as a villain. And because of her age and power/ability (pretty much the same as Jean), she maybe a one shot for the X-Men proper films and might spin her off to X-Force, Gambit or Deadpool films.

Look, man, I just don't like her, and even if I did, I've known her primarily as a TV personality/news broadcaster. I can't take her seriously as Psylocke when I'm expecting her to cut in and talk about the weather.

Not to mention Psylocke started off as a Caucasian Brit...
