im getting tired of this whole if one minority gets insulted the rest of same said minority has to jump in to protect that person. my issue is simply him. i have no beef with you or any other gay person. and really i do believe its becoming a crutch to support oneself instead of actually dealing with the situation ive asked many times for people to let it go but they keep pushing because they know it riles me out. that little jerk off had many of my threads closed based on whatever simply because he can. either way im the bad guy and i oviously cant seem to win so if people want to push me to be a prick thats what im going to be
The sexuality has nothing to do with it, whether he is straight, gay, Siamese or fucking polka dots. It's what you wished upon him that pissed me right the fuck off.

When you have been through 2 PEP's as I have, and have had to watch people you love suffer because of HIV, you would understand why wishing death by AIDS on someone is wrong, not only because most decent humans know that, but also because none of this "well they push me to do it" bullshit is any type of valid reason or excuse to say such a thing .

you know how i am jeff. with me gloves come off. its nothing new with me. i admit im a selfish cold hearted person you really think me wishing aids on someone is the only thing ive ever said? you clearly havent been around me much i cant remember if you were around when i made those muslim jokes that set kuhan off in wich was the main reason behind my ban and if you think me wishing aids on someone is the worse thing buddy you have zero clue about me.

and i disagree because i think if ap was a straight guy and if i said the exact same thing involving a aids guy raping him you would not have chimed in and got all angry

be honest it really is because you guys share the same lifestyle and admitting it isnt a bad thing unless your ashamed to throw one of your own to the wolves when they actually deserve what is said .

      • Sigh.

Here's the thing people. I'm admitting that I'm tired and don't feel like reading back through the bullshit. I'm going to assume there is fault on all sides and ASK of you all to remain on topic in a polite fashion from here on out. That is what I ask of you all. I don't want to go suspending/banning people or anything else besides discuss relevant Marvel topics tonight. So again, I ask you all to chill out. Forgive don't forget and trust that I and the other mods are not turning a blind eye towards anyone but simply (speaking for myself) just want peace.

So be peaceful and think before you post. READ before you post. And more importantly, Check the fucking rules before you post.

        • Edit: West is on it, thank God.

I'm looking into getting some reprinted back issues or trades for some of the Golden Age Marvel stuff. Anybody know if they have any of those? Stuff like the Destroyer, Jim Hammond/Human Torch, the ridiculous teams who's names I can never remember...?

                        • 'Fantastic Four 2' Is Officially Doomed

As reported by Comicbook.com and confirmed by Box Office Mojo‘s trusty release slate schedule, Fantastic Four 2 is officially no longer on the release calendar. The sequel to Josh Trank’s franchise reboot was planned to open on June 9, 2017, well before the first film actually opened. But as you presumably know, the Miles Teller/Kate Mara/Michael B. Jordan/Jamie Bell comic book adaptation was something of a shocking disaster. So, despite assurances and optimistic presumptions here and there, Fox has done the sensible thing and put the planned sequel on hold. Yes, it’s just a loss of release date, but I think if Fox wanted to inspire confidence in the project they could have merely picked a later slot. That they didn’t pick any date at all arguably speaks volumes.

The picture was plagued by a year of negative behind-the-scenes gossip, some of it confirmed, as director Josh Trank and Fox butted heads almost from the get-go regarding the finished product. And the end result basically satisfied no one, earning scathing reviews and (most shockingly) audience disinterest. The $120 million picture opened with just $25m in early August, collapsing with lightning speed and ending its run with a domestic haul of $56.1m and $167.9m worldwide. For comparison, Tim Story’s Fantastic Four opened with $56 million back in 2005 and ended its run with $155m domestic/$330m worldwide on a $100m budget. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer opened with $58m and ended with $127m/$288m on a $130m budget.

Josh Trank lost out on directing a Star Wars spin-off for Walt Disney, and the film served as a cautionary tale in terms of hungry young filmmakers doing that big blockbuster despite not seeing eye-to-eye with the studio. At least Edgar Wright and Marvel knew when to amicably part ways. That it even took this long to (temporarily?) cancel the sequel is something of a shock and a testament to how franchise-crazy Hollywood has become. The film was a critical failure and a box office flop, pure and simple, with audiences not even showing up to initial sample the goods. It was clear that there was little interest in this particular version of Fantastic Four. In a saner world, this sequel would have been canceled on the Monday after Fantastic Four‘s terrible debut weekend.

But this “darker/grittier” version of the Marvel comic wasn’t just about itself. It was also intended as something of a starter movie for what would eventually lead to a Fantastic Four/X-Men crossover event with those two franchises acting as the core parts of Fox’s own Marvel cinematic universe. Fox still has the rights to these characters and presumably options on the core actors should they decide to use them in some other fashion. And I’ve long argued that Fox should just keep making X-Men movies and use that foundation to introduce new characters, or, in this case, reinsert established characters. There is little reason why Reed Richards and his fantastic family can’t pop up in whatever follows X-Men: Apocalypse. Although the current X-Men franchise is a period piece while the recent Fantastic Four took place right here and now.

The irony was that Fantastic Four 2 ended up being slotted against Paramount/Viacom Inc.’s World War Z 2, which was itself a sequel to a famously troubled production. But that Brad Pitt zombie adventure salvaged itself onscreen and had the goods (star power, an interesting premise, trailer-friendly footage, halfway decent reviews, etc.) to actually attract audiences and snagged a $66 million debut in June of 2013 before earning $202m domestic and $540m worldwide on a $190m budget.

Fantastic Four had little else beyond the intrinsic draw of its property, one that had been adapted before just ten years ago, and it’s clear that the core property had little pull. Again, the fact that the cancellation of a sequel wasn’t an utterly forgone conclusion was a testament to the mentality of the times. Even that threatened The Mortal Instruments sequel eventually morphed into a theoretical television series, and we never did get that promised “darker, grittier” Green Lantern sequel. But even with all of the above factors, the utter and complete failure of Fantastic Four remains something of a shock.

Come what may, big-budget comic book superhero movies based on somewhat well-known characters have been a pretty safe bet for the last fifteen years. Right up to the end we all thought that the film was at worst going to do a $40 million debut/$90m total and $200-$225m worldwide total, or enough to save face. That a movie like this did so poorly shows the limits of our preordained blockbuster era. Even Green Lantern, a much more expensive picture, earned $220m worldwide back in 2011 for Warner Bros. /Time Warner Inc. In that sense, Fantastic Four‘s failure is encouraging although the compromised final product is just interesting enough for me to mourn its fate.

And Fox has been excellent at pulling out overseas magic even on would-be turkeys such as this. Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters earned $199 million worldwide while even something like Gulliver’s Travels earned $237m worldwide back in 2010. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which I like more than you, made $188m worldwide on a $90m budget two years ago, no smash but still a comparatively superior performance. In fact, in terms of films on this scale, I’m having trouble coming up with the last Fox film that performed in this manner. Maybe Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter ($116m on a $70m budget in 2012) is the closest comparison, but otherwise I gave up looking when I got to Avatar.

20th Century Fox is otherwise having a pretty good year, with a stunning $414 million smash in the R-rated and $81m-costing Kingsman: The Secret Service and potential Oscar champions in The Martian ($487m and counting on a $108m budget), Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Revenant, and Jennifer Lawrence’s Joy. So better to not dwell on this catastrophe. Stripping away everything else, at the end of the day Fantastic Four was a would-be franchise starter that received poor reviews, had a terrible opening weekend, and performed poorly both in America and overseas relative to expectations and budgetary requirements. And now, barring unforeseen variables, it will have no sequel. Come what may, that’s how it’s supposed to work.

                          • Probably a good move, with how bad word of mouth was with the first movie. I'd rather they try and do an X-Men/FF crossover movie first and then have the sequel spin out of that.
