Someone other than Danny Rand is a popular Iron Fist? I liked the older guy that was introduced as the previous Iron Fist before Rand who used guns, can't remember his name though.Originally posted by W.West View PostIs Danny Rand the Iron Fist everyone wanted? I feel like fans wanted the other guy. I don't know a damn thing about Iron Fist.

He absorbed the properties of whatever he touched, and the original draft called for Hulk to encounter Creel in the city after first escaping the military.Originally posted by Fearless View PostI thought that he became Zzzax the Living Dynamo?

...What other guy? There IS NO other guy. Danny Rand is THE Iron Fist. If you're referring to Orson Randall from Fraction & Aja's run, then just know that he is not the Iron Fist of the current era. He is a Iron Fist, from 1920 or something like that, but he himself is not THE Iron Fist.

Originally posted by Hypo View PostAfter confirming the creative team of Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez earlier today, Marvel has published new comments on the upcoming "Civil War II" on its company website. Though details are still vague, the consensus at this point from the publisher is that while it'll have similar overarching themes and goals as 2006's original "Civil War," the conflict itself will be separate than what originally drove Iron Man and Captain America against each other nearly a decade ago.
"The fun thing about 'Civil War' [was] that the issues involved not only divided the heroes, they also divided the fans, to say nothing of the creative people," Tom Brevoort told Marvel.com. "The attempt was to craft the conflict so that each side held a valid and defensible position, so that a reader could fundamentally agree with either one side or the other, with neither being painted as absolutely right or absolutely wrong. While the issues involved are different, we’ll be taking the same approach to 'Civil War II.'"
Bendis -- who has a history with high-stakes Marvel events after writing "House of M," "Secret Invasion" and "Age of Ultron" -- said that "no one is safe" in "Civil War II," along with praising the original story by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.
"The original 'Civil War' is one of the most important Marvel comics ever, and we are all very excited to have come up with what we hope is a story worthy of the title," Bendis said. "If you are scared of earth shattering Marvel events where no one is safe… be afraid, be very afraid."
Though a release date hasn't yet been made public, the Diamond Retailer Calendar mailed to comic shops this week suggested a May 2016 start date for "Civil War II," the same month Marvel Studios' "Captain America: Civil War" -- inspired by the original comics story -- arrives in theaters.

In the words of Clay Davis, that's some shameful shit. How can just go about promoting not only the event after the event that has yet to be completed but promoting it in the fashion where your favorite character may perish as the selling point? Ugh.
Good thing that Marvel already axed my favorite character and made him into a villain before he died...

I wanna change my name to Zzzax the Living Dynamo, LMAO. Never heard him called that last part.Originally posted by Fearless View PostI thought that he became Zzzax the Living Dynamo?
That seems to be all Marvel does now and its kept me almost completely away for over two decades. You can ride the hype train, follow one or two characters across a 25 part event including tie-ins just to see what happens to who and where. And then see who doesn't make it out alive...Originally posted by W.West View PostIn the words of Clay Davis, that's some shameful shit. I feel for ya with Cyclops. Growing up I always liked Havok more but in recent years I started appreciating what he was to the over all universe of characters more. I think it was after he 'died' and Cable joined the X-Men with that weird half mask and his dad's visor around his neck, when Scott came back from that he was a badass.

I wonder if they could make Danny Rand Asian or at least half Asian. You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. N.W.A., Nerd With Attitude. Straight out of Vulcan!

I'll take your word for it. I really don't know much about the character, much like Jessica Jones. So, this is another Netflix story I'm looking forward to.
However, I think a half Asian actor could be an outsider as they are often shun for being half breeds/Amerasian like Keanu Reeves' character in 47 Ronin. You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. N.W.A., Nerd With Attitude. Straight out of Vulcan!

Thanks for the recommendations. I might look into it as I may not want to read them to keep a fresh perspective on the character when the series debuts on Netflix. You just witnessed the strength of geek knowledge. N.W.A., Nerd With Attitude. Straight out of Vulcan!
