  • MARVEL Says: No More Major Events For ‘At Least’ 18 Months After SECRET EMPIRE

Oh and Nick Spencer is going off on another rant as he is wont to do.

Yea bruh, DC totally does as many events as Marvel.

Waid also went on a massive rant this morning and then deactivated his twitter...Marvel isn't really handling the criticism well.

    • Having a major event every single year is exhausting and makes things feel like they're overflowing. Have an event ever year if you want, but spread the big stuff out every fear years with smaller stuff in between.

      • I actually think Spencer was right. Everyone seemed to want to berate the guy for the quality of his work without listening to what he had to say. He gave examples of why the article was saying untrue things. He gave context when the article didn't. That's fair and because the article didn't, that's unfair of the writer of said article.

I don't think Nick was trying to say that DC is going on a event spree like Marvel did or even comparing that DC does a lot of events. Just that they are now doing the double shipping like Marvel championed and with DC announcing a new event (that will lead into another event), he mentioned that they could be following the same path so it wasn't a stretch to bring that up.

            • Was about to post this. I wonder which members will show up in the series. IDK about Squirrel Girl being the leader but...

ok here's the thing i like X-23 as Wolverine she's been in the game long enough she's earn it, i just don't like her story lines (the team-up with Squirrel Girl killed it for me)

i don't care about the new Ms. Marvel, Miles Morales, whoever Hulk is, and Falcon Cap I JUST DON'T CARE

i don't like Riri CAUSE SHE DIDN'T EARN THE ARMOR, by #3 she was given it, before anyone knew who she was they "killed" off TS for her, it was wrong and that's why i haven't packed up any of her issues since

i'm all for new hero's Marvel but stop killing off all my fav's just to slap their/there/they're names on the n00bs cause their/there/they're black-a women-gay-or whatever

                • I pretty much with you that I don't care for some of the newer characters, which is fine by my wallet. I'm pretty much reading the same Marvel titles that I did back in the early 90s, which are X-Men and Spidey which included Miles. Although, I did read the first run of Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel, but I stayed away from Spider-Gwen and Silk.

                    • Marvel's now publishing comics that aren't about their title characters?

Shit, I need to get a writing job there.

I'll pick a random character, like Eye-Scream, pitch a 38-issue mini-series (every issue will be #1), title character won't even show up until at least issue #1 (19), and the first dozen pages of the first issue #1 will be a parody of me phoning in the plot to the artist from my bedroom while I'm watching Dragnet.

                      Instant success.

                        • ^ That's the best comic book trailer for any of them this year. Perhaps, one of the best comic book trailers of all time. "Immigrant Song" was the perfect choice to score the trailer. It is so awesome! Hela looks amazing, and appears she'll be one of the better villains of the MCU.

                          • Josh Brolin to Play Cable in 'Deadpool 2' (Exclusive)

                            Here comes the Cable guy.
Josh Brolin has nabbed the hotly contested role of Cable opposite Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 2, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The production has been on the warpath to find the right actor for the role for months, with Michael Shannon almost nabbing the role and Stranger Things star David Harbour on the shortlist. (There were even rumors of conversations with Russell Crowe and Brad Pitt.)

In the end, Brolin emerged as a surprise contender, notching his second Marvel Comics character in the process; the actor plays the villain Thanos in the Marvel Studios movies. Sources say Brolin's deal is for four movies.

David Leitch is directing the sequel to Fox's surprise blockbuster, with the Twentieth Century Fox movie heading towards a June production start in Vancouver.

Reynolds is reprising his role as the wisecracking mercenary, with the story expanding to include other characters from Deadpool's corner of Marvel’s X-Men universe.

Atlanta breakout Zazie Beetz has already been cast as the super-powered merc named Domino.

Cable, was co-created by Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld and writer Louise Simonson, and is described as in many ways being the opposite of Deadpool: a man who is a leader and used to being obeyed, who is very controlled but with an aura of simmering violence. In the comics, Cable was from the future and was the adult of Scott Summers, also known as the X-Man Cyclops.

Brolin, who was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in 2009's Milk, has been on a busy streak with a lot of his work culmination this fall. He leads the cast of Granite Mountain, Joseph Kosinski’s firefighting adventure that opens Sept. 22 and also stars with Benicio del Toro in Soldado, the sequel to Sicario. He also appears in George Clooney’s ensemble Suburbicon, which opens Nov. 3, and stars in the drama The Legacy of the Whitetail Deer Hunter that opens Dec 25.

Brolin, who takes centre stage as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War in 2018, is repped by CAA and Ziffren Brittenham.

                            • Josh is a great actor. He can do comedy and drama. He certainly looks the part, but I am disappointed they didn't get someone that wasn't already playing the big bad in Marvel's playground.
