Every time I see that costume I'm just irked by it. I'm passing on this book, when is Gotham by Midnight coming out?

I'm already reading way to many books to even glance at this one, I'm sure it'll be a good book but I don't need it. I'll grab it when the trade comes out.
The setting, the costume, plus the hype just irk me for this.

I am not the target audience for Batgirl, and that's okay. It wasn't bad but this book aint for me. The art is very Bryan Lee O'maily inspired.

I was going to say that it felt like Scott Pilgrim meets Batman. I enjoyed Batgirl a lot more than Gotham Academy. I think Academy was too much foundation and not enough interesting things happening now. Batgirl on the other hand was pretty much flawless. In fact, the worst part of the issue were the scenes in costume. I like that they didn't make a big deal out of the costume change and that they are already playing within continuity. It was a great start.Originally posted by Iggy View PostI am not the target audience for Batgirl, and that's okay. It wasn't bad but this book aint for me. The art is very Bryan Lee O'maily inspired.

This. On page one alone I had to look up "GBG" (to no avail, so I figure it's an acronym for something with a G and Barbara Gordon) and "fixie." This is just too far from my context (which I guess sounds odd since I read books about super beings, aliens and billionaires), but I just don't care about these girls.Originally posted by Iggy View PostI am not the target audience for Batgirl, and that's okay. I don't think I'll get the next issue. I'm not particularly interested in a Barbara that gets so drunk she sleeps in till 2:30 PM and forgets who she got to second base with.
I did like Gotham Academy, though. I realize I'm even further removed from that context, but I guess the Gothic atmosphere appeals to me and I really like Maps.Last edited by Space Cop; 10-10-2014, 01:06 PM.
