I don't think it's that hard for a DC newbie, but Morrison comics in general can be a head trip.

You have to really be on your game, as a reader.

Yeah, reading R.I.P. without any experience was real fun.

It was a great book too! I really like the Batman of Zur-en-arrh.

How can you that Batman and Robin is the best Bat book of the year. While I have enjoyed them, those titles are average at best, includining Detective Comics. There is a reason I dropped Tec, simply because the first arc was not a strong enough arc. The only reason Tec is getting praise is because of JH art, and that is only part of the comic book experience, a good story has to go with it as well. Batman and Robin hands down beats Detective Comics

Saying William's art is phenomenal and Rucka's script is mediocre is like comparing Batwoman to Saving Private Ryan.

Saving Private Ryan is great and Batwoman is too.

So...Flamingo comes and goes.

Jason's arc was lackluster, and Damian is paralyzed;which happened to be the best moment in the issue. Very disappointing, but the end peaked my interest a bit. Especially the "Next In..." page.

I would rather read a lesser Morrison issue with lackluster art than the utter mediocrity that is GLC.

The art was distracting. The whole time, I had to imagine that the Flamingo on the cover was the one in the book. I liked the resolution with Scarlet. Morrison did a great job, but Tan was just a bad choice for this book.
